Re: KDSSF Scholarship Tourney @ Tick Ranch

The 2013 edition of KDSSF fund raising tourney is almost here; March 23rd. Depending on the weather, we could have multiple tees on more than just a couple of holes. There will be 22 holes again like last year. Entry fees will be the same also. And Shaun's Big Hot Meat will be there with chili, or s...

Re: Kansas Disc Sports Scholarship!

Every year, the toughest job of the KDSSF (Kansas Disc Sport Scholarship Foundation) is finding individuals to give money to for college or trade school. If you know of a graduating high school senior that is involved in a disc sport, encourage them to apply. The amount collected for the 2013 schola...

Re: Colwich

Plans do go differently sometime. On the 22nd, we cleaned up a new short tee area for 6 and burnt a brush pile plus what we cut. We also drilled the 8 holes for two tee signs and two pin placements for both 6 and 13 and then installed them with concrete. We put down yellow flags to mark the tees. He...

Re: Colwich

I want to thank all those that showed up for the workday. In total, there were 10 men and three boys and all of them contributed greatly to the cause. I left the course around 4:30 (arrived at 8) and in that time frame we cleared out 13 tee, took down the fallen limb on 14, cleared the basket area a...

Re: Canyon

I really wanted to make it this time but the wife planned her office party that day at our house. I still want to come to one of these.

Re: Colwich

Looks like instead of a work weekend; it will be a work day. Sunday is suppose to be windy and rainy. No fire permit if it is windy. And I don't work with a chainsaw in the rain; too dangerous besides miserable. So hopefully everyone shows up on Saturday and we kick butt. I would like to have three ...

Re: Buhler putting in a course?

The hole lengths as designed were supposed to be: 1-240, 2-200, 3-255, 4-330, 5-200, 6-260, 7-220, 8-350, 9-320. I haven't seen it since it is done. After playing hole 7, cross the ditch/low area and tee to a basket to the north. Walk some distance south to the west edge of the property and throw to...

Re: Course in Buhler

The design of the course was made for 18 holes for future expansion or 9 temps for a tourney. Two holes after 1 would be inserted and then after 9, 7 more playing clear to the road on the south around the swimming pool. If you go for a round this december, take the wife and drop her off downtown to ...

Re: Colwich

Thanks for the compliment Smitty. There will be a few holes on the west side that are more open when we get there. And you are right, even the done side needs more work but it is better than the old course. As far as the work days go; I plan on having dogs and chips; cook your own when hungry. It wo...

Re: Colwich

It is that time of year again. Our first work weekend is scheduled for Dec 8/9; both days. I know most people can't work all weekend helping but if you can come out a morning or afternoon and drag brush to the fire, it helps. We really want to get holes 6 and 13 done this year to make two more playa...

Re: Monthly Mulvane Monday Mini

I sure hope to make the next one of these 4M's. I played there the other day and had a blast. Only my second time. Met a local player named Kyle. He sure can throw. If he shows up to one of the Minis, welcome him. He would be a super partner in doubles. Am I right to assume that it is always the sec...

Re: Colwich

Happened to stop by Colwich today just to see what shape it is in. Plan on going back tomorrow morning at 10 am to play if anyone wants to join us. The course is mowed and of course since it hasn't rained, there isn't a lot of rough. For a course that isn't finished, it sure looked good and better t...

Re: Derby (Stone Creek) Alternates

Finally after months of procrastination, the tee signs have been updated with the proper distance. The questionable one is 15 as I still can't walk across the water but the others were all wheeled and the correct distace updated. The old numbers were guesstimates before the tee pads went in.
