The Tournament players played on a slightly breezy day and chilly. The trees actually provided good protection for most of the round and we played the yellow tees one time at 11am. The recreational course was just that, fun to play. Dennis Vahsholtz won the Masters and the overall honors with a stea...

This is going to be a long post but wanted to put all the information out there for everyone to see. I'll break it up into two posts. First the Cash. There was $526 raised for the scholarship Foundation. Half of this is reserved for principle to build the account, the other half will go to the schol...

After about 6 hours, 3 of us on Saturday kicked butt on the clean-up. Four holes we spent a great deal of time on and did a little bit on a half dozen other holes. The course really looks pretty good now but unfortunately will need about that much more work before all the holes are good. Now all I w...

Yep, league is set for the 9th and 10th at Colwich at 1pm. At 9am we will meet to start cleaning up the course both days. On Saturday, drive through town and take the first road to the south and park on the road; that is where we will start. I will provide gloves for those that need the protection. ...

Here are the final details. The date is set, Dec 16th; Saturday. The time will be 11am. We are only doing one round and playing the yellow tees to make it a birdie fest. We chose those details so that it might warm up by 11 and that gives people time to get home for Christmas parties after the round...

Looks like we will have the Kansas Disc Sport Scholarship Tournament there Dec 16th. Jeff didn't really want to do it at the Tick Ranch this year for a number of reasons. We do need to do some trimming though. We are planning on using the Yellow tees to make it a birdie fest similar to what we have ...

Kansas Disc Sport Scholarship

Howdy one and all. It is time once again to host the annual Scholarship Tournament. The details are still being worked out but we are looking at the 16th of December as a date. A Saturday. We are currently planning on using the Colwich Course and playing, most likely the yellow tees (Recreational). ...

Yes it is true, the city wants to put in a disc golf course. Remember Olathe in the early years with no trees. Quite possibly this will be the case but there is some excellent elevation change possible. Unfortunately, there is probably only room for 9 holes. The part of the park that was originally ...

This was an example of some of the best disc golf holes in Kansas. It couldn't have been a more perfect day either. The weather was warm, the winds were calm to non existant, the grass was mowed as if each blade was cut with scissors and the trees displayed their fall glory. What a sight to rip a dr...

Truely was a great course; long & short, open & tight, right and left. Quatro said it all as to the breadth of amenitites. Thanks to all of the Dycks for a great tournament.

I could use a little help with 1988. I only have one newsletter from that period. Here is hoping that Mark or Buddy has more info. I did find the names of the 12, yes 12, charter members. If you have even one newsletter, it might be one I don't have so let me know. Reach me best in the winter at bil...

I was there a few weeks ago with a local and he informed me that what was once thought of as park land actually belongs to a farmer. The county has complete control over the park and doesn't allow any work to be done by the local club but the farmers land is only done by the locals and is looking ve...

I have not seen any information in any of these posts about Russel. Does it still exist? I can look up when it was put in (approx.) It was built and designed by a boy scout as I recall with help from the city. A small 9 holer.

Colwich

Here's news. Colwich is finally getting mowed. The original 9 are playable with the back being mowed as soon as possible. Let me know how it was mowed and if anything needs corrected or improved upon. There is some construction being done at the bridge and the dirt being piled on 5s fairway will sta...
