Brett-
The super old farts played from shorter tees. Many of the holes they played were as much as 200 feet shorter.
We had a 2 stroke penalty for playing the holes in the wrong order. We finished up on hole 4, walked to the "next tee" that was less then 50 feet away and played the hole. When we "finished" we noticed that we had skipped a hole. The hole was about a 150 feet walk from the basket, in the opp. direction of the flow of the course. I was kind of Pi$$ed about that.
We played like crap for 3 rounds. We only had 1 round that was worth a crap and missed cashing by 3 strokes. That is a long drive to come home with a lighter wallet and thorns stuck in your butt!

The location was much better then San Saba. The course were not as good in my opinion.
The tee pads were crap! Some of the holes were dangerous. I nearly got smashed in the head several times.
I wish that the "world doubles" were some place other then Texas. I would think that would be cool to play in GA next year.

Smitty -
I played world doubles a few years ago with Ronnie and we got stroked for missing a hole also. It sounds almost like the same hole. We played one that was close to the basket we finished and come to find out it was in a different direction.
I also liked San Saba better, but it could have been because of my partner also

That layout is GAY! I am sure you skipped the same hole that we did. Hole 5 on the Hill course. #4 is about 8 billlion feet long. Hole 5 is a short tunnel shot with a fast downhill green (the one we skipped). Hole 6 you probably used a thumber, it is short with a small downhill behind it with a pond deep to the right.
