To all the competitors, volunteers, sponsors, and tournament staff of the 2016 Salt City Open:

This year's Salt City Open was the largest tournament I've had the privilege of co-organizing. I started helping organize this event five years ago, and I am stunned by its growth and by the amount of support we received. For that, I owe my sincerest gratitude to the hard work, enthusiasm, and patience of everyone involved.

To the players, I apologize for the miscues that caused the event to run so far behind schedule. I understand that many of you came from out of town and had a tiresome, late drive home. I'll be the first to admit that we may have bit off more than we could chew. I appreciate so much that you demonstrated patience and respect towards me and the rest of the tournament staff while we fumbled with these issues. I hope you all enjoyed playing and will remember the Salt City Open for the people who care so much that you came. We trust that you will share your constructive comments with us so that we can make next year's event even better. Thank you again for making this event such a rewarding experience for me as co-organizer.

To our volunteers, thank you for stepping in and performing so many of the behind-the-scenes duties that often go unnoticed and unacknowledged. Thank you to everyone who set up tents/tables, marked OB, collected sponsorships, brought extra supplies, counted scorecards, packed up at the end of the day, and everything in between. We could not have pulled this event off without the selfless gifts of your time and talent.

To our sponsors, thank you for providing this year's Salt City Open with an unprecedented amount of support. You showed all our competitors that businesses both big and small care about our sport and love to see us succeed. Your contributions show that Hutchinson is a city that supports disc golf. There are also a number of people who donated outstanding prizes for our CTP and Ring-of-Fire contests. Thank you for your donations!

To Christopher Dendurent and Duck's Flying Discs, we can't thank you enough for the amount of work you did to make sure that the players' merchandise needs were fulfilled. You're a world-class guy and a world-class business owner. Thank you so much for your generosity.

To Dennis Vahsholtz, Discs Unlimited, and Millennium Golf Discs, it is always a pleasure working with you. Thank you for the additional merchandise, prizes, and raffle items that enhanced the Salt City Open experience.

To Javier Rivera, thank you for providing a delicious on-site lunch for our players. That meat was smoked to perfection!

To Brian Reeves, those trophies were the icing on the cake! Some of the coolest pieces of hardware I've ever laid eyes on.

To Arlen Goering, thank you for the countless hours of work you put in mowing fairways, planting trees, constructing benches, cleaning up debris, and much, much more. You've made our course something to brag about.

To Matthew Newton and Ian Ray, my fellow co-organizers, thank you for taking this wild ride with me and steering this tournament to such resounding success. You made everything about running this event such a rewarding and fun experience. Your tireless effort and can-do attitude are part of the reasons this event boasted 93 participants and $1,725 added cash.

And to my beautiful wife, Amy Carroll, thank you for enduring the weeks that consisted of many nights devoted to tournament prep. Thank you for believing in me and for supporting my wild endeavors. You've been behind me every step of the way providing words of encouragement, a lending hand, and a cheerful spirit. I love you!

Did I forget anyone? I apologize if you were not mentioned, there were just so many people that made this event possible. But know that your actions did not go unnoticed. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Sincerely,

Josh Carroll
