Looks like it is going to be pretty tight down the stretch for the autobids. Going be very interesting. Every tourney until the end could be the diff between a place, it could also determine who gets in and who has to watch.

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
Well, looked back at the results from DD open. No chance for me to get into the KDGA championships thanks to that awful last round.....Anybody need a caddy if the event isnt too far from the ICT????

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
unless i am mistaken there will be 2 last chance qualifiers. both one day tourneys. recent years have played out that way anyhow. not even sure where finals are this year but usually a tourney is paired sat with the finals sun and one a week or 2 before

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
This is the real Schoen-hopper. That was imposter you read above. And these are the real standings. Red is a current top third qualifier. Blue is a current regional qualifier. Yellow is the current Friz-Rocker stalker.
These can change up till the last event. 2 more players in each division will be added as tournament qualifers. So if you don't think you can qualify another way, try to win the tournament qualifier. All you have to do is beat the other non-previously qualified players in your division.

Maceman in advanced. I couldn't read the name until I highlighted it with my cursor.

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
There is some interesting stuff going on. Things could really change after this weekend triple point event in Topeka.

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
If someone is unable to attend do you open that spot to the next on the list?

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
What about a situation where someone is qualified by points at the first qualifer but wins his division, so the next person down qualifies. Then at the next qualifier he is jumped and knocked out of the top 1/3. Since he was qualified the tourney before, he didnt get the automatic bid, but now he's out and would have in retrospect.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
That is a good question Ruder.
I don't know if we have any races that are that close. It would probably take at least 3 people on the bubble.
What do you say Mike? I would think we would probably let all 3 people in if that happened.

Re: 2009 # of Tourneys per Member
The first year that we used tournament qualifiers we calculated who won the tournament qualifiers after the points were figured for the event. In other words, the top third was re-figured after the event to then determine which players were eligible to receive the tournament qualifier. While this might be a more fair approach, it is more difficult to figure up (espescially right before awards/banquet), and more confusing to the players as they don't know exactly who they are going up against. There is a reverse scenario that could potentially be unfair as well. Say a player who isn't in the top third beats all the non-top-third players in his division, but a different player gets knocked out of the top-third and he doesn't beat this player. If the top third was refigured prior to awarding tourney qualifiers, this person bumped out would get the spot and the player who thought he had won it would not. Same situation, different perspective.
The way the qualification reads now is pretty clear. If you are currently in the top third, you can lose your spot. It isn't protected until the end. But if at a tournament qualifier you beat the other players in your division that were not in the top third before the event: you are qualified and cannot lose it.
