Re: 2011 Oz Tour Points Update

Just wanted to post this to let people know who is in, who is on the bubble, and who appears to be out.

The remaining KDGA schedule consist of:
Oct. 1 and 2 Shung (Triple points this weekend)
Oct 8 and 9 No KDGA events. (Frizz will be going on and you should all play that)
Oct 15 and 16 Currently No KDGA events scheduled
Oct 22 Great Life - Salina (Old Elks golf course)- Will be a last chance qualifier.
Oct 29 1880 Doubles in Newton (10 points to all KDGA members)
Nov5 th Round-Up in Wichita - Will be a last chance qualifier.

Currently tied for the Frizz-Rocker Clause we have Mace, Tom Thompson, and The Bo. These guys have played the most events and are not qualified. If someone with more events would happen to fall out of qualifing (Kent Lockhart is on the bubble and has 17 events) these guys are out.

The last chance qualifier will be determined after the points have been re-figured after Salina and Round-Up. The top KDGA finisher in each division who isn't currently qualified will get into the finals. If for example Bo (Who is on the Bubble) would move into the top 1/3 at Salina based on good play, then skipped 1880, then DNFed or finished poor in Wichita. He could possibly qualify, then lose that spot, then based on what Mace and Tom did possibly get back in?

The points race is always fun this time of year.

Smitty, you've got Sweets and me both in blue. I assume he should be the top Pro and somebody else should get the Am spot from our region.
Throw Millennium.

You are correct. That was an oversight on my part.

Sweets gets the Nod as the top Region 5 pro. Jason Snodgrass gets the nod as top Am region 5.

Is the overall winner of each division determined by overall points or the winner of each division in the finals?

Overall points. during the finals it's pretty much just a mini tournament... think we are playing the Kassner format again this year.

Not sure if I am correct? Mike will have to come back in a recheck my work.

We didn't have 10 KDGA members at Shunga so the top finisher will get 10pts. and go down from there (X3 triple point event)

30 Ron -5
27 Kintzel +3
24 Curtis +11
21 Speers +23

Format:

Format:
Players will be randomly seeded before the start of the first round. This neglects any intentional pairings or hole assignments. Groups with 6 or fewer people will play on one card each round. Groups with 7 – 10 players will play on 2 cards, and 3 cards for up to 14 players. All matches will be predetermined by seed number on the scorecard. Play is a shotgun start for everyone, each 6 holes is a 1 vs. 1 match play. After each 6 holes a new match will begin. Playing this fashion will allow 3 matches to take place over 18 holes. Everyone will play 6 matches during the day.

Points are a scored in the following manner:
1 point for winning a match.
1 / 2 point for splitting a match.

Total points won determines the final standings.

In the event of a tie:
Head to Head is the first tie breaker.
Total Holes won for the day is the 2nd tie breaker.
Total birdies is the 3rd tie breaker.

Groups of 3-4 players.

Round 1:
Match 1----------Match 2----------------Match 3
1 vs 2------------1 vs 3-----------------1 vs 4(x)
3 vs 4(x)---------2 vs 4(x)---------------2 vs 3

Round 2 would be an exact repeat of round 1.

Groups of 5 or 6 players all on 1 card.

Round 1
Match 1--------------------Match 2--------------------Match 3
1 vs 2---------------------1 vs 5 -----------------------1 vs 3
3 vs 4---------------------- 2 vs 3--------------------- 2 vs 6 (x)
5 vs 6 (x)----------------- 4 vs 6 (x)------------------4 vs 5

Round 2
Match 1------------------------Match 2-------------Match 3
1 vs 6(x)-----------------------1 vs 4---------------1 vs 2
2 vs 4 -------------------------2 vs 5----------------3 vs 4
3 vs 5 -------------------------3 vs 6 (x)------------5 vs 6 (x)

After 5 matches (30 holes) total all points won and seed 1 -6 using all tie breakers if needed. Play the final 6 holes using the new pairings. Total final points for final standings.

Groups of 7 – 8

2 cards using random seeding.

Card 1
Match 1--------------Match 2------------Match 3
1 vs 2---------------1 vs 3---------------1 vs 4
3 vs 4---------------2 vs 4----------------2 vs 3

Card 2
Match 1-------------Match 2---------------Match 3
5 vs 6---------------5 vs 7-----------------5 vs 8(x)
7 vs 8(x)------------6 vs 8(x)--------------6 vs 7

Total all points won after round 1 using tie breakers if needed. Top 2 players from each form card 1 Bottom 1 or 2 players on each card form card 2. Reseed by pts won and repeat final parings.

Total all points won for the final standings.

9 – 10 players 2 cards random seeding
Card 1
Match 1--------------Match 2-------------Match 3
1 vs 2---------------1 vs 3---------------1 vs 4
3 vs 4----------------2 vs 4---------------2 vs 3

Card 2
Match 1------------Match 2-------------Match 3
5 vs 6---------------5 vs 7--------------5 vs 8
7 vs 8---------------6 vs 9--------------7 vs 9
9 vs 10(x)----------8 vs 10 (x)--------6 vs 10 (x)
