We will be in the 4-H Building. Donuts and coffee starting about 8:00 am, so come warm-up, brush off the snow, and hang out before the round. Or, go out and "warm-up" a little on the course, and then come back to the 4-H building and warm-up with coffee and donuts!

We are going to play no matter what the weather. We understand if you can't get here because of bad roads, but if you can, we will have fun!

We have already raised a TON of sponsorship for this tourney (goes to the Food Bank). I won't give a total yet, but it's over $400.00! Some of the sweetest disc golf I have ever played has been during a snow storm! Anyone else remember playing a Hays Ice Bowl backwards, in a Blizzard (Kyle hit an Ace on 15 basket)! Only 3 of us remember playing Dodge City in a Blizzard (losing discs on Friday, but finding them Saturday afternoon)! What will happen Saturday??

It was a fun day in Norton! Lots of snow, a little wind, and beautiful snow clinging to all the branches transforming the course at times into a Winter Wonderland. Well, I thought it was pretty cool! Here are the results;

All participants received a Food Drive Disc!
Open
Chad Gasper 53, 54- 107 $20.00 cash, Open CTP afternoon, hole 7 (Disc, Tshirt, mini, flashlight and tire gage set).
Scott Haynes 53, 56- 109 Z Flick, Open CTP morning, hole 10 (Disc, Tshirt, mini, flashlight and tire gage set).
Don Mordecai 57, 55- 112 All CTP afternoon, hole 3 (Disc, Tshirt, mini, flashlight and tire gage set).
Kent Lockhart 62, 66- 128

Am.
Jason Majors 64, 58- 122 2 Discs, Am CTP morning, hole 5 (Disc, Tshirt, mini, flashlight and tire gage set).
James Fawcett 64, 64- 128, Am CTP afternoon, hole 4 (Disc, Tshirt, mini, flashlight and tire gage set).

Jason pre-paid a couple weeks ago when I was out at the Eagles playing a friendly game of Texas Holdem with the guys. I had James call him this morning at 9:30 to tell him if he didn't show, I was going to donate his 20 dolla to the food bank! No refunds! He came and had a fun time. This was his first tourney win, so the Norton Disc Golf Club kicked in a couple discs. Thanks to Scott for representing Hays! He said the roads weren't bad, but It was great for him to make the trip! Also, big thanks to Kent for all his help. And, he brought his Bullseye Basket. It was a lot of fun putting on it! Oh, one more thing. Usually when Chad plays well, he is yelling and letting everyone know. Not today, he was very cool which in this case cool means quiet! That makes it a lot more fun for me. Chad was the only one to fall on his rear in the snow. We only laughed when he was up and we knew he was ok! Chad putted well and played solid both rounds! Congrats Champ!

We had a bunch of sponsors for this event, but they are just local Norton businesses. That's great, but I don't think I really need to post them on here. But THE sponsor was "Veteran Lawn Service"! Kent, thanks a TON! Kent also bought lunch, pop, and brought the snow shovel (and much more)! Oh yeah, we made $540.00 for "God's Pantry", the local food bank!!

Thanks for coming out and playing today, it was very fun! Hope to see a lot of people in Hays next Saturday!

It was a really awesome time about 6-8 inches of snow! There was a couple 3 foot drifts! No one lost a disc either!

Nice work, Don! And shooting under par in that much snow is no easy feat.
