The 5th Fling has come and gone. Congratulations to our 2015 Fling Champion, Brandon “The Swede” Nelson of Team Handeye and Team Millennium Golf Discs and to all of our division winners! I had a great time and I hope each and every one who attended had a blast as well. With the exception of a few things I overlooked or plain forgot about, the event went very smooth. The few areas where I fell short were noted and will be resolved well before Fling #6 takes place. This event would not have went as great as it did without the help from my friends and family. My best friend and brother, Bo has continued to support all my projects and is just a great overall guy to have in your corner…and my corner is stacked: Ben Wiggins, Casey Fluty, Brandon Nelson, Brit Welch, Chris Smith, Cory Obermeyer, Mike Junod, Russ Horning, JD Wyatt, Duck Dendurant, Jason Childre, Jeremy Kindy. Thank you all for helping make Fling#5 a great experience. I would have not have been prepared for Saturday without Handeye’s Computer Science Manager, Jason Adkins. Without his help, we would still be doing payout Monday morning. His assistance with all the ‘behind the scenes’ stuff allowed me to focus more on getting the fun stuff together. I can’t write enough words about the names above. Disc Golfing/Events aside, these are all fantastic, unique human beings, and I am grateful and proud to have them in my life.

The list below are other outstanding people in the disc golf community that made the Fling our best one yet:

-Dynamic Discs; Jeremy Rusco has been a great friend of mine since he began DD in his basement a decade ago. He has been there for me with advise and encouragement since Handeye started. With his friendship and guidance, Handeye Supply is spreading literally around the globe. This year and beyond is packed with projects as Disc Golf, DD, and HSCo. continiue to grow. With support from DD, as a proud Team Member, we were able to add $600+ in prize giveaways, not to mention other donations to the ring of fire from Pironix, Hyzernaut, Ben Maass, Jehramy Heckman, Russ Horning and Lloyd Majors.
-Duck’s Flying Discs; another solid and growing relationship as the Duck and I have the same goal of growing the sport and having a damn-fun time doing it. Thank you for all your assistance with the Fling and our other collaborations. Strong Friendships can accomplish amazing things.
-Jerry Sherwood with ACDGC
-Marty Hunt and the City of Derby; the course looked beautiful!
-Josh Taylor and Debbie of Little Busters Bar and Grill; the power came back on just in time to have a great after-party. THANK YOU to whoever picked up our table’s dinner tab. The mystery person(s) would not come forward, but the gesture was appreciated from all of us.
-WSU DG Team; Nispel, Deaner, and the rest of the team are awesome. Ben is always down to help out` and HSCo. is proud to support their quest to grab a Collegiate Title.
-The best for last, my wife. I consider myself misunderstood at times, but my wife gets me, and that’s all I need. Thank you for letting me hop this train and together we will see where it takes us.

Again, all the minor hick-ups will be addressed and handled in time for Fling#6. If there was anything at all that you felt could be changed/added/deleted from the event itself, please feel free to email or PM me. YOUR INPUT IS VITAL to the success of future Flings! An event is successful not only by the staff, but by you the competitor. I thank you all for coming and being a part of a great day of flight and friendship. I do not consider this “MY” Event. The Fling will always be “OUR” Event. Scores posted later today! Put Fling #6 on your schedule for next year as we will have more giveaways, more added cash, more holes, more laughs, MORE EVERYTHING!!!

What an awesome bunch of brothers in frolf I've got. And what a rad thing we all have going with the KDGA/HandEye/Ducks/Millennium/DD in Kansas. Really cool to be a part of it.
