Who would be interested in a centrally located disc golf festival of sorts....say spring...in Newton?
Events starting early on Friday and not ending until Sunday afternoon.
Lots of fun with a KDGA Disc Golf tourney in the middle.
Events:
Disc Golf
Pick your partner doubles.
Glow Doubles
Long Drive
Skill Shot Challenge
Accuracy
Free Food
Cheap Camping
Ace Race of sorts
Super Class
Beer drinking
Carts
Mini Guts
Beer Frizzz
Disc Golf Swap meet/flymart
What else would you like to see.
Entry around $60 with a players pack included. Probably a shirt, disc, meal, and some other goodies.
Other events would cost extra but would be cheap. $5-$10/event.
Payout would be solid and having fun would happen for sure.
Get at me with some feedback.

Food for thought
Re: Food for thought
I realize the weather isn't as nice, but summer/late spring might bring a better turnout (probably biased due to my line of work).

Re: Food for thought
Here's a thought for ya. An over-all festival buy-in cost (you get some kind of wrist band or something.) Then individual pricing for those who won't make all the events. 1st annual Disc Golf (Very Special) Olympics.
Re: Food for thought
LIzzard hard to tell...if you partake in all the events of the Frizzz (Team Golf, Glow, Tourney, Mini Guts, Beer Cart, Saturday Dinner, camping you should donate money) $60 is pretty cheap. If you are like me and the only portion you were involved with was the tourney $60 is pretty steep. I did win the thing this year and was given $70.disclizard wrote:yeah it sounds fun . how much $$ we talking though? is it going to be cheaper or more expencive than the frizzzzz?
This event will be a little different and cost will depend on what you want to do.
There will be an entry fee that will get you a players pack and tourney play.
Camping will cost extra....it isn't right to charge people to camp if they don't.
Other events will be extra...once again why charge people if they aren't going to play.
***All events will have there own payout based on participation.
So to Answer you question.
If you just play the disc golf tourney you will pay basically the same fee as the Frizzz. You will get a much better players pack that will include at least a disc, shirt, and food.
If you are involved in other events it will cost you a little more. Probably $5-$10 for each event.
Hope this answers your question.

Yes...that is kind of the idea. We will not have a wrist-band....as that could be a nightmare from a recording standpoint.
I will want to know how many times a person plays the "Ace Race" .... Exactly how much money was paid into the "Super Class Event".
Hope this helps.

I like this. @ the 1880 Smitty mentioned perhaps a "fam oriented, camping discgolf/FUN weekend", would this be it? Either way, this cats in.

This is it for sure.
Good times and Good friends all playing the game we love! Frisbee!
Families are going to be more then welcome and people are encouraged to bring them.
There will be partying going on, but the hope is to keep it low key.
Plans are under way.
