I'm working on playing all the courses in Kansas in 2 years. I've only found one other person with a similar goal and found no one documenting anything similar. To help facilitate that journey, I've put together a website to help track my progress. You can find it at http://www.playkansasdgc.com. One of the features is a map of all the courses I can find in Kansas: public, private and those that are planned, but not in yet. In February, I knew of about 150 and now I have north of 170. The sport is growing in Kansas!

Once done, I'd like to turn that map into something that can be used by Kansans who are traveling to other parts of the state or out-of-staters coming in and wanting to play. DGCourseReview is good, I'm hoping this will be easier to use to find Kansas courses. There is a link for every course on the map to DGCourseReview if they have been submitted there.

With that said. if you know of any courses that are dead or planned or in process, please let me know.

There is also an email link at the top of each page.

Thanks,
Doug

Doug you might find this to be interesting reading.

That being said, a number of the courses mentioned in that thread don't exist anymore.

And with Facebook supplanting a great deal of traffic from local forums like this (the Nebraska and Iowa boards which I used to read a lot have similarly gone to crickets), DGCR is probably your most complete resource for course bagging. It also has a built in means for cataloging your conquests.

Kind of the problem with playing all the DG courses in a geographical area is that they're constantly building more.

Just FYI there are actually two others in the state with the similar goal of playing all the courses in Kansas. Myself and breaking the chains. We started playing as many as we could starting in 2010 when I got into disc golf. We both go off the course list at dgcoursereview to see the courses that need to be played. Its not the be all end all but its as good as we have as of right now. There are several courses that are in the works and not listed and as you have said the sport is most definitely is growing. I personally have had 100% complete (according to dgcoursereview) twice now, but they keep adding courses so it seems the task is never ending.
Either way its a fun task to try and accomplish and I applaud you for documenting your journeys and trying to make things easier for other golfers. Please keep us updated on your travels as it is fun to reminisce about the places we've all played.

Saw your map Doug. Do you know if there actually 9 buckets installed at El Dorado State Park or is that still on the drawing board?

I know it's been awhile, but I have had a chance to look through that forum topic...and have loved it! It would be fun to document disc golf in Kansas more formally before sources start disappearing.

There is nothing at the lake and they are waiting on the state to allocate some $$$. I did hear though, there may be something happening inside the city limits of El Dorado.
