Post by ranmatt »

Are you a true hardcore disc golfer?

Then proove it!

Discinranmat is challenging all players to join his winter tour.

A series of mini events that will take place in the winter months of november 2009 --- febuary 2010

Saturday events will start at 1:30 in afternoon, Sunday events will start at 11:00, no matter what the weather condition (except lightning of course) and will take place at various courses in the area. One round will be played. All divisions will be offered as long as there are players wanting it.

The pro and the am player who attends the most events at the end of the tour will be titled hardcore player of the 2009 -2010 winter season.

A one time $5.00 fee is required to join the tour to receive credit for each event. Each will have a entry fee of $20.00 for pro divisions and $15.00 for each am division. Pros will be paid in cash and ams in plastic.

I thought I would explain how the points for the tour works. :D

Here is how the points will be awarded for each event:

Each player will recieve 1 point for completing the event. Then additional points will be based on the weather conditions of that day.

1 point if the Temp is below 32%

1 point if the wind speed is above 20 mph

2 points if it is raining during the round (drizzle will be considered rain.)

1 point if it is snowing

1 point if there is more than 1 inch of snow on the ground.

2 points if there is a layer of ice covering everything (foloowing and ice storm)

All conditions will be factored in the point award so it is possible for an event to be worth 9 points if all the above conditions are met during the round. You will trully be a hard core player to complete a round on a day like this!
Let see if we can do it.

The top point pro player and the top point Am player will each get an even cut of the total prize purse. The purse will be figured as follows: $3.00 from each $5.00 tour entry fee paid by players, plus any ace fund money left over. After the first event that was held on Nov 8th the prize pot is at the moment $24.00 plus $16.00 ace fund.

The next event is at oak park on Nov 22 at 11:00 am. Bring everyone you think might enjoy the challenge. Lets see how many hard core discgolfers there really is in the area.

Any questions feel free to call me at 316 737 2310.

Drizzle could be one point, rain 2 points. Tornado watches worth a couple points. Have an event at night worth double points. Too bad this isn't Grizzly Bear country, that could be worth some. Play with no shirt when it's below freezing and that should be a bonus... :D

Sorry Randy, I couldn't help myself.

Np, Thunderstorms with lighting was the only excluded weather initially but we will cancell for tornados also. If there is a tie, I really doubt there will be it will be played off, sudden death after the newton event.

Next event is going to be at oak this sunday 11:00.
Hope to see everyone there.
