Kevin-

Have you thought about using the KDGA Food Drive discs along with your Ice Bowl? You can do both and it isn't a problem.

The way the KDGA runs the FD is simple. The TD buys the discs at our cost, we don't make a dime off them. Then you value them at at least $15. Any money made goes to the Food Charity/Pantry in the area.

We also give a basket away in a raffle. Anyone who buys/gets a disc at the food drive is able to win the raffle.

In Winfield we normally charge $20 to play, then do a pot luck lunch, and all players get a disc. We leave the first round open to the players choice. Any format, any group is welcome. Then after lunch we run a $5 buy in doubles if the weather is willing to allow it.

No, I wasn't aware about the Food Drive discs. But I may be interested depending on the cost of everything. I'm always looking at ways to improve our ice bowl though. I'll try to get with you about this. Thanks

I have two free night stay at our local hotels that I will be auctioning off at our Ice Bowl to raise extra money for Project Warmth. So if you plan on attending our PITT Open on July 28th then come on down and try to get a night stay for a cheaper price. I'm watching Storage Wars to brush up on my auctioning skills...lol. Hope to see some of you there.

Here are the amounts raised for the PITT Ice Bowl:

$290 for Project Warmth
278 lbs of food for Wesley House

We had 20 competitors and I would like to thank the players and our local businesses and Community of Christ youth group (served hot chocolate and made lunch) for their support.
