Crispin should be in the Open division. He has been playing Open at KDGA events most of the year. I think it is a good move and he isn't the first person to change divisions in the middle of the year.
As far as finishing in the top 3, you could still do it. You will just have to pass Ron or I, Crispin is out of reach (Don't you have any friends getting married? or graduations? family reunions? Baby-sitting duties? Come on there has to be something that is going to make you miss a few events and give us a chance..
There are tons of events left that will score big points.

the real deal is Mike explained to me that moving up to pro would give way to a more exciting points race in the advanced division. I had no intentions of moving up to pro(especially due to an open win in hutch) until next year. I've tried out the open field at KDGA events and realized 2 things:
1. I feel like I am learning a lot more playing in the open division.
2. I really enjoy playing with the pros I've got to play with thus far.( a true privilege to play alongside such great players)

Said well and true. Just giving props for the good tourney in Hutch.
KDGA division basically just means which division you are competing in the points race for end of year trophy and finals. For those of us on the fence between divisions, some of us play up and some down for the KDGA. It is tough to finish in the top 3 in division, but usually pretty easy to get into the finals due to several different ways to get in, including the full top third in each division.
