Manhattan Leagues 2010

Post by JakeT »

This year, the MDGC will have at least three leagues in Manhattan.

MONDAYS: Random Doubles at Fairmont tee off at 5:30pm, beginning 4/5.

WEDNESDAYS: Per usual, random Doubles at Tuttle tee off at 5:15-5:30 (5:15 the first few weeks), beginning 4/7

SUNDAYS: Handicap singles league. This league will rotate between Tuttle, Fairmont, and (in May) Warner. Rotation schedule TBD. For the first week, this sunday 4/4, we will be at Tuttle.

Doubles Leagues will be $4 entry and $1 ace fund. The singles league will stay at $3 entry and $1 ace fund. Ace funds at different courses will be kept separate. The singles league ace fund will go to whatever course we're on that week.

If we have good numbers (we had 16 this week at fairmont... missing regulars and expecting a few more next week) I hope to get one goin at Warner when it opens.

Oh and results from this week at Fairmont:
-11 Tulp (straight up)
-6 Paul ?/Aaron Warnke. (won 1st playoff hole)
-6 Mark Kewley/ Jake T
-5 Kevin Clark / Bryce
-3 Tom O/ David??
-3 Kevin Clouse / David??
+2 Mallory / Blake
I forget other teams score (AJ was one of the team)

Tulp is a freak. We should make him play right handed.

ha ha actually we were messing around throwing opposite hand the other day... it was pretty ugly, for most; I surprisingly did okay left handed, maybe I should just switch...

we'll be at tuttle again this sunday for singles.

lefty being taboo comes from bible times. Everybody was to wipe there ass with there left hand and it was against the law to touch someone with your left hand. It of course stuck around for a long time. this is why it is written to turn the other cheek. In other words turn your cheek as to let the person hit you with the taboo hand and they would be more in the wrong. Get your self out of situations, not take the beating.

.... now that I've talked to a few guys about this, I starting to think Tuttle has a pretty good toe-hold on Wednesdays. So maybe Tuesday nights at Warner Park might be the way to go.

Tonight after league at Fairmont the subject of Warner league came up. After a heated debate we decided to start play there tomorrow night (5/17/2010) @ 5:30.

When the Country Stampede comes through River Pond, there is talk of doing "Warner Wednesdays". That really has a ring to it.

Warner Wednesdays and Tuttle Tuesdays? Only if it's ok with Thad.

Following league at Fairmont tonight there was a discussion about the Country Stampede preparations quickly consuming the course at River Pond. The group decided to move the Warner Park league temporarily to Wednesday for now instead of playing Monday & Tuesday.

Pass the word that league will start at Warner this Wednesday at 5:30
