Saw the flyer. No Jones East this year?

Was wondering what the cap is this year with the extra day thrown in, and if there are going to also be division caps like last year? I see that there are 54 pre-registered already.

Unfortunately, due to more restrictive conditions regarding leave at work, I'm likely out for this year. I'm also considering not renewing my PDGA. :x

Never mind. I found the event schedule.

The word from McCabe is no/not much. If Jones is anywhere close to what we played yesterday, think big. Not as big as the player's party, but big.

Should I bring my roller, or leave it at home?
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

Sad to say I'll miss the GBO this year; only the 2nd 1 I've missed, ever :(
But on a happier note, I'll be going to Texas Womens Champs that weekend. I told TX I'd be back to finish a tourney after having to quit my 1st time there (stupid shoulder!).

I'm sure it will be super awesome! I've been telling everyone they need to go.

I will also not be going to GBO this year. I have to stay and help work Post Prom for my daughter (Kelsey is a Junior). Sounds like it's going to be great (again). I would really love to go, but sometimes life takes over. I will probably go to KCWO or another big tourney this year, but nothing will make up for missing Glass!

Glad there is so much excitement for this event from the KS folk:) The GBO is going to be something special this year and we want KS to be well represented. Out of almost 200 registered players to date we have less than 30 from KS signed up! Support this event, get signed up, and make your plans for a great weekend in Emporia.

2 months away. Time to get signed up.

We currently have 3 men's world champs, 2 women's world champs, 2 usdgc champs, several Rookies of the year and players of the year winners.

Have also heard a rumor that the defending champ Cale will be there. Borg is also rumored to be making the trip. I assume Will will be back. Throw in the Paul's who in my opinion are the future of disc golf.

Hope to see some of you in E-town.

Just wanted to keep everyone in KS updated on the recent course layout.

Today Dick Parker, Adam Searle, and myself battled the cold weather to finalize the Glass Blown Open disc golf layout at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course. McCabe spent a lot of time with the initial design process and with a few tweaks we feel like we have a top notch course that players are going to enjoy for this years GBO! The map and layouts of all courses used for the GBO will be posted as soon as final adjustments are made and approved. It looks like a par 63 course right now that is very righty/lefty neutral.

We are finalizing the Jones Park Gold course as well. Rumor had it that we were going to be playing the 'bitch' course. This is not the case.

Projected Jones Gold course up to this point:

Hole 1 East - Right pin
Hole 2 East - New Left pin (or standard long pin)
Hole 3 East - Right pin
Hole 4 East - Left pin
Hole 8 East - Left pin
Hole 9 East - Left pin
Hole 10 East
Hole 11 East - Long pin
Hole 7 East to Hole 5 East
Hole 6 East - Right pin
Hole 12 East - Left pin
Hole 13 to 5 West Right pin
Hole 6 West - Right pin
Hole 7 West to Hole 15 East Right pin
Hole 9 West
Hole 10 West to 16 East Long pin/or just normal Hole 16 East
Hole 17 East Long pin
Hole 18 East - Island pin

Any feedback and suggestions would be appreciated. There are sure to be a few minor adjustments but this should give you a pretty good overall picture of what the course is going to be like.
