1880 Doubles Oct 5th (Rebooted thread)

Post by Swede »

You probably noticed serious problems with the website. Adkins has been working tirelessly and we hope that is behind us. We lost a few weeks worth of posts (twice) so I restarted this thread with the important info at the top. 14 teams got signed up before everything went haywire. Thank Adkins for his hard work and for getting Online Reg up!!

Best Shot: Players A and B both drive. They decide which of their shots to throw from. Both throw. Repeat.

Tough Shot: The same as best shot except that after A and B throw their opponents decide which disc A and B will throw from next. Repeat until 1 putt is made (both players do not have to make the putt). Opponents are required to pick the lie they feel will result in the worst score.

Switch Shot: Players A and B drive. Player A finishes the hole from B's drive. B finishes the hole from A's drive. The better score is taken.

Switch Bonus: Same as Switch Shot but if a team gets 2 birdies, they score an ace (1 stroke) on the hole. These are on very short, reachable holes.

Alternating Shot: Player A throws first. B throws second from A's lie. Continue alternating shots until the hole is completed.

Like last year, there will be two holes per round that are played Tough Shot where a 4 is a really good score, and 2 holes per round of Switch Bonus where teams have an opportunity to card a 1. You definitely don't have a chance to just zone out and throw discs--there will be strategy on every hole.

The ark is half full of pairings. The Finnegans and the BLEEEEEPS! bring us to 20!

1803 THE Bleeeps TEAM Censored __ Josh Ficken 909 Kyle Kuhn 894
1868 THE Finnegans TEAM Ginger Flautist __ Casey Fluty 955 Mike Unruh 913

Wondering why Finnegans? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-_Pt-KZPPw

Assuming we aren't full by then, I will try to get to the ACDGC membership drive to accept pre-reg in person this Sunday. If you plan to pay in person, write down both player's full names and bring the whole $60. I might not make it for the actual round but I'll shoot for the shindig to follow.
