Ace fund goes to $256 for next, well, whenever we do league next.

About that...lots of LRDGC'ers headed to Beloit this weekend for the KS Championships including most of the LR crew. I could run league Sunday, but getting up in the morning hasn't been coming easy lately, and I don't want to get up on five hours sleep, drive up to LR and not see anyone. Relocation to Carey might make me more willing to do league there if there's interest. Unless I get some chatter on here, or on my phone, I'll assume there isn't, in which case, see you next Wednesday. Also anyone else is welcome to step up and run league Sunday in either location. You can skip the full buy in and just have everyone pay $2. ($1 to the club, $1 to the ace pot) and report the results here. Hand the money to Darren next time you see him.

I do want to run a couple of ideas by everybody. Next week there are back to back LRDGC/SCFC league nights. 18 holes of golf is probably enough for some of us, particularly if you have to be at work the next morning, but was wondering if anyone would like to do an informal semi-glow (as in we will put sticks on the buckets and start playing before full dark) after league both nights. Format to be decided (maybe singles one night and doubles the other). There would be no entry fee required, but all area club tags (LRDGC, SCFC, Hyzernaut, etc) would be up for grabs. For those who wish to put a little dough on the line to spice things up, side betting with other players, either straight up or on a handicap, would be encouraged. You and your opponent decide the stakes, and do your own payout. On the fly $1 CTPs are also encouraged. Bringing a lot of $1 bills is recommended if you're interested.

I am also considering running a "tombstone" round for Thursday, August 7th. Normal 5:30 league time. Still debating whether to make it an LRDGC event. How the tombstone format works is instead of completing all 18 set holes in the fewest throws, players will be given a set number of strokes (I'm thinking 50 or 60) to complete as many holes as possible, with everyone starting from Hole 1. Players will be given a marking flag which they put their name on. If their final throw ends up in some location that is not a basket, they will put their flag in the ground there. This is your "tombstone" or where your round's "life" ended. Players who end in a basket, can simply bring their flags back.

Officially, ties for most holes completed will be broken by best stroke score at the last basket completed (i.e. if two people complete 18 holes and one did it in 59 strokes and the other did it in 60, then the one who did it in 59 would get the better place), if it is still tied, you continue backwards until the tie is broken. For s--ts and giggles though, I will go out after the round and measure all tombstones in relation to that holes pin with my GPS, so we can make records of sorts. Should be a fun time.

Mull both these ideas over please, and feel free to copy-paste this gibberish I just wrote to FB, as I don't go to that evil place.

Just wanted to point out for whomever hasn't seen the flyers down at Carey, this is on for tomorrow night at 5:30. I have decided to do it independent of either league. Every dollar bought in is going back out in someone's pocket. Hopefully, we can get at least ten to show.
