Skins turned out pretty good considering the crazy weather. Last night the forcast was 6mph winds. It was actually about 20mph, and gusting 40. It was rediculous. On some holes, it probably played at least a stroke harder than normal.

We had 4 players at 3:00pm and ended up with 10 by 3:30. If we would have had 12, I would have split it into 2 groups. Took about 3 hours to play and another 15 minutes for payout.

Mike Schoenhofer, Jeff Ring, Andy Horning, Grant Summers, Jacob Clark, Randy Mattingly, Russ Horning, Bo Carrasco, Ben Maass, & Don Zimmerman.

Resultz....

Ben Maass won the CTP on hole 7 for $10.

Grant Summers won longest putt on hole 2, at about 60', for $10.

7 holes out of 14 pushed. Mike Schoenhofer and Ben Maass tied at 5 pushes for $2.50 each.

Overall score shows how tough the wind was. Randy and I played it yesterday and Randy shot a really mediocre +3, or 50, yesterday, when he played it blind.

Mike Schoenhofer: 58 for $15
Jeff Ring: 59 for $5
Randy Mattingly: 61
Grant Summers: 62
Bo Carrasco: 65
Russ Horning: 68
Andy Horning: 72
Don Zimmerman: 73
Jacob Clark: 77
Ben Maass: DNF (Threw a bomb that disappeared into the atmosphere on hole 2 and probably ended up in a fenced back yard. Never finished that hole)

Hole by hole skins results. We payed out for 3 players and pushed for 4.

Hole 1: Mike missed a 25' and Russ missed a 15' for skins. Push.

Hole 2: Mike was 70' out after 2 shots and took 5 putts. Grant, Randy, and Jeff split 3 skins for a winning score of 5.

Hole 3: This hole played amazingly tough. Normally a deucable hole (5 long). Jeff and Russ split a skin for the only 3's.

Hole 4: Normal 6 from the SHORT tee was the toughest hole on the course. Headwind reaked havoc. Something like 6 lost discs including one of the best drives. A bum walking the opposite direction picked up Jeff's drive and tossed it into the river. Jeff blasted him with a full beer and Ben made him think about it. Ben was the only 4 on this hole!

Hole 5: Andy, Randy, Bo & Ben took 3's for a push. Only Bo cleared the road on the drive, and with the huge anny. Nobody threw OB.

Hole 6: Randy had an amazing drive that somehow hit the only spot of the curb that would kick the disc into the road. Mike, Andy, Grant, & Ben pushed it with 3's.

Hole 7: Another wild hole with wind & river. Luckily no casualties this time. Mike & Ben put drives inside the circle, but neither birdied. The craziest thing on this hole was something I have never seen before. Ben jammed a downhill tailwind putt for the 3 into the side of the basket that the wind bent back upright to where the disc was resting vertically on the side of the basket with the wind keeping the disc in place. It might have been partially wedged, but you couldn't really see.

Hole 8: My Champ Monster ran into a wind gust that turned it like a steering wheel. The wind killed everyone on this normally easy hole except Jeff Ring, who took the only 3 for 4 skins, or $20.

Hole 9: Saw several different routes, but no rollers. Nobody got close on this short, downhill, tailwind hole. Grant, Jacob, Randy, & Don got 3's to barely push the hole.

Hole 10: I decided to play this to the shorter hole 9 basket, instead of #3. Mike, Randy, & Bo tied for 2 skins with a 3.

Hole 11: Just a crazy hole playing through the columns. Saw a lot of different routes. The 2nd shot proved more important than the drive. Ben & Grant skined it with 3's.

Hole 12: This hole was reachable with a both a fun hyzer going over the pond and through the trees, or a big late turn anny. Nobody nailed the drive and almost everyone managed to take 3.

Hole 13: Wind the wind direction and strength, this normal 17 long hole was reachable, but again, nobody quite nailed the drive. Mike, Jacob, Randy, & Ben pushed it with a 3.

Hole 14: Last hole was worth 4 skins and this one probably tied # 4 for the most drama. It was just as disappointing for 9 of 10 players (scores ranges from 4 to 12!). Most of the drives landed safe, but all were short of the distance needed for a good shot at 3. The best after 2 shots was Jeff Ring, who was still 150' out. He parked a flick over the road. Mike missed another short putt for the only other 4. Jeff again won 4 skins outright for $20 more.

Skins money:

Mike: $3.35
Jeff: $44.20
Andy: $0
Grant: $5.85
Jacob: $0
Randy: $6.70
Russ: $2.50
Bo: $3.35
Ben: $7.50
Don: $0

Overall money won:

Jeff: $49.20
Mike: $20.85
Ben: $20.00
Grant: $15.85
Randy: $6.70
Bo: $3.35
Russ: $2.50

Adds up to $118.45. I lost $1.55 somewhere. I am fired!

While the wind certaily added to the drama, it would have been just as fun, and more fair, without it. We should do it again sometime. The course we played was a little more suited for pro players. Perhaps we could play some seeded skins during league on the regular course sometime.
