The forecast continues to change. Could be a bit cool. A true Ice Bowl. Good news is no rain this month or expected before next week.
The mostly wooded course should provide some shelter from the wind. There will be a warm building and hot food for lunch. I will have some handwarmers for those who don't bring any.

Re: 19th Wichita IceBowl Jan 25th
Here is a little on the course. Forgot how to post the map image here. Maybe Crispin will post it.
Hole 1, 429': Last year's #17. This was the huge 650' hole. The tee was moved up considerably, but this is still by far the longest hole. Still has the uphill & treed green. Hole finish favors righty.
Walk along path to hole 2's tee on the right.
Hole 2, 280': Open on the right and jail on the left with a sharp turn to the left needed to find the pin.
Hole 3, 240': Very cool hole that starts out in the open and finishes in an uphill tightening tunnel.
Walk past basket and then take the trail to the right to get to the next tee.
Hole 4, 263': Dual route shot or even thumber.
Hole 5, 239': Another dual route shot, this one tighter.
Hole 6, 232': Short & mostly open, but don't find the trees left or right of the green.
Those on hole 6 should wait for hole 7 to tee. The uphill and trees should protect the tee, but shots thrown errantly too strong could put the tee pad in danger.
Hole 7, 285': Start with a slightly elevated pad in the trees. Fairway is clear save for one big tree, which the basket is behind.
Hole 8, 216' (CTP HOLE): This is a fun short tunnel shot. This is the only hole with OB. Past the pin, there are posts. If completely beyond the posts, the shot is OB.
Hole 9, 256' (CTP HOLE): Perhaps the best hole from last year's course (hole 6 last year). Tunnel shot for righty or open, but longer lefty hyzer. Basket close to top of slope.
Hole 10, 229': Tight tunnel shot favoring lefty. Last year's hole 7.
Hole 11, 355': Shot from dike down into the plain of the park. Several routes, but the trees make each challenging. Wind could be a factor here. Last year's hole 8.
Hole 12, 333': Interesting uphill throw with trees right and left. Trees much worse on left, but fairway is better on left. Similar to last year's hole 9, but tee moved 50' shorter. Hyzer bomb could be possible, but risky.
Take same walk as from hole 1 to 2, but turn left to tee 13.
Hole 13, 288': Lefty opening through a gap in the tree cover. Not much room up high. Righty could roll this one. Basket tucked uphill behind shrub trees. Same as last year's 11.
Hole 14, 297': From last year's 12, this hole's tee was moved much shorter and basket longer. The basket is now behind a set of trees on the right. A straight shot, but finish slightly favors lefty.
Hole 15, 199' (CTP HOLE): Last year's tightest hole-13. Hit the gap and you are right there. Hole looks longer than it is. Hard righty finish, but straight putter shot will still put you within 15-20'.
Hole 16, 366': A truly difficult tunnel shot. A 300' straight shot will give you a putt. You can try to make the right turn after 300', but you could likely miss the fairway and have to punch out. The rough is "rough" on this hole. Try not to burn all your mullies!
Hole 17, 259': Short & fairly open except for trees all around the green. This hole has a drop off right after the basket.
Hole 18, 342': More of a righty anhyzer than lefty hyzer. Tree line on the right bends right all the way with a couple or gnarly trees in the fairway as well. A birdie would feel great on this hole. Same as last year's 18.
5100' total length.

Well It looks like the weather isn't going to be in my favor to ride the bike to the ice bowl . just to damn cold. I moved to the north east side of Wichita near Bell air. I would like a ride to the Ice bowl and will pay for the gas for some one to come and pick me up and bring me home after. If you need to go early to help out that would be great i would like to help out some to. I asked a couple of people who live out on the east side and got no replys yet. so any one who can help would be cool. I just don't want to miss this event .

Re: 19th Wichita IceBowl Jan 25th
Things are looking good for this event. Going out to Oaklawn at 4pm today to pick up the keys and make sure all the flags are where they should be. Anyone wanting to throw the course is welcome to join me; I will be throwing a few shots.
For those bringing baskets, please post if you cannot attend. Hopefully someone could pick your basket up.
An important reminder. Don't get seen on the course with alcohol (or any other substance) and seen or not ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL in the community center. Someone was casually drinking a beer when the staff came in last year and we almost did not get to do this again this year. There also is likely to be a church service going on in the moring in the south side of the building. It's all seperated from where we will be, but we just want to remember to be respectful.
