Alright folks, warm weather has arrived and the clock jumped an hour ahead this last weekend. Let's hope the warm weather sticks around so we can enjoy the extra light for more disc golf!
The KDGA had another successful year of food drives with nine tournaments this year raising money for their local communities. Thanks to the guys who put these together, and each and everyone of you attended helping raise money and bring in food!
The KDGA Kick-Off was this past weekend, and what a showing! Camp Hawk can host more than your usual course with six extra holes, yet the tournament will still filled over capacity with 101 folks taking in the beautiful weather to start off the official season!
Coming up this weekend is the classic Mac Attack. The tournament has a slight change this year, both Wall Park and Lakeside courses will be utilized! Get signed up and check out Darren's tournament.
Next weekend hosts a tournament that's not only a blast, but for a great cause as well! Tick Ranch is happening on March 21st near Rose Hill. Each year this tournament raises fund to be used for the Kansas Disc Sports Scholarship. You can find more information about the scholarhip here. If you know of any seniors this year who particpiate in any sort of disc sport (it doesn't have to be disc golf!) direct them here and have them fill out an application. They are due by April 1st so the deadline is coming up quick!
Four more events down since the last update, all part of the KDGA Food Drive as we get the year started up! 92 folks made it out for the Wichita Ice Bowl and the event lived up to it's name! Winfield, Dodge City, and Norton all held food drives as well. Thank you to each of you who have participated in these events! Putting these on allows our community to give back to those in need!
There are two food drives coming up this weekend, one in Salina and one in Pratt. Check out the schedule for links to more information about them!
If you can't make it out this Saturday to either of those events, you'll have one last chance to participate in a food drive this season as Hutchinson hosts one on February 28th. Keep an eye on the forums for more information on this one...
Hey folks - the 2015 Oz Tour is under way! Darren Bottom kicked off this year's Oz Tour with the first event in Little River last weekend. 36 players showed to navigate the plentiful OB and gusty winds for the season opener. Thanks to everyone who showed up to help support Goodfellows!
Coming up this weekend is the Wichita Ice Bowl. Proceeds from this tournament will to the Kansas Food Bank! This event this year has added a new twist, it's being held at Camp Hiawatha in Valley Center instead of Idlewild Park. If you would like more details, you can find them on the forums here.
