$526 Raised For KDSS!
The annual Kansas Disc Sport Scholarship Tournament took place on December 16th. The event was once again successful in raising funds for this great effort. There was a total of $526 raised for the Foundation. With the Octoberfriz Auction money and all the interest earned this year we will be able to give out more than we gave out last year.

We raised $182 in entry fees from 26 players, $91 from donated prizes for Am payout, $65 in donated money at the start of the tourney and $100 donated by check before the tourney and $62 in prize payout that was returned after winning. In addition, the ace fund of $26 was surprisingly not won and that money was donated to the foundation as was announced it would be prior to the tournament. Half of the total amount raised is reserved for principle to build the account, the other half will go to the scholarship.

The Tournament players played on a slightly breezy and chilly day. The trees actually provided good protection for most of the round and we played the yellow tees one time at 11am. The recreational course was just that, fun to play. Dennis Vahsholtz won the Masters and the overall honors with a steady 46. Tied for 2nd was Dave Richardson and Bill Paulson at 47, Harvey Barger 48 and Don Mordecai at 52. In the Open, Chad Garrison and Ben Maass tied for 1st with 47s, 3rd was Jeff Ring 49, 4th-Brad Roeder 51, 5th-Billie Cabral 52, 6th Steve Stuber 56, and 7th Austin Streit 58. Robin Reimer shot a solid 54 for 1st in Pro Women, playing pro for the first time. Am Women was 1st, Miranda Fulton 63 and 2nd- Lacey Ryan 68. Am Masters had 4. 1st- Marcus Anderson 49. 2nd- Randy Sullard 52, 3rd Tom Vierthaler 55. Jerry Sherwood was 4th at 64. Juniors had Calvin Priest take 1st with a 54 and 2nd Jered Edmonston 68. In the Recreational Ams- 1st-Dave Wiley 50, 2nd-BenWiggins 51, James McCaskey 57, Bryce Miller 66 and Rodney Vickers 68. For Doubles, the afternoon was warm and calm. 20 people paired off and played the red tees. Tieing for first with 47s were the team of Jeff Priest and Bill Paulson and the team of Harvey Barger and Ben Maass. 3rd was Chad Garrison and Dennis Vahsholtz with 48. Tied for 4th with 50s were the teams of Brad Roeder and Calvin Priest and the team of Jeff Ring and Jack Robinson.

Here are the people that donated cash over and above the amount they donated for playing. Robin Rymer, Steve Stuber, Dave Richardson, Jack Robinson, Pam Paulson, The KDGA from Brandon Mace, Dennis Vahsholtz, Bill Paulson, Jeff Priest. The following is a list of people that donated prizes which turned into cash; Don Mordecai, Chad Garrison, Dennis Vahsholtz, Bill Paulson and the KDGA. I want to thank every one of the players and donaters for the successful outcome of our fundraiser. I know Jeff would add his name to that thank you and I am certain that whomever the scholarship goes to will be thankful for the gift.
