A portion of the membership funds are applied to the end of the year season final tournament. This years format will feature a double elimination match play tournament for the top points earners of each division.
To qualify for the match play finals a player must meet one of the following qualifications:
1) Finish in the top third of their division. Any time rounding is needed, we will round-up at .5 or more. For example if there are 14 people in a division, a third of 14 would be 4.6, in a case like this we would round up and take 5 players.
2) Win a "last chance" qualifing spot at either the Dynamic Discs Open or Wichita Round-up. Each KDGA division will have a last chance qualifier up for grabs at each of these events. The highest finishing non-qualified KDGAer at each of these events will win the last chance qualifing spot. In the case of a tie for this spot, we will use the total number of KDGA points after that tourney to break the tie. If the players are still tied, we will go to the most events played.
3) Each KDGA Region is guaranteed at least one Pro player and one Am player in the finals. In the case that a region would not have a player qualified in the end, the top Pro points earner and the top Am points earner are allowed in.
4) The final way a person can get is in by the "Frizz-Rocker" clause. This spot will be given to the 1 player who has played the most events, and hasn't qualified for the finals.
The final will be a double elimination match play format. The players will be seeded based on their points. This should be a fun and exciting way to end the year. It is spectator friendly, and filled with suspense. The winners of each division will then play in a Grand Finale double elimination match play event.
The location of the finals will be in Hays in 2008.
Another membership benefit is the roll over Ace fund. If nobody at the current KDGA event hits an ace, half of the fund rolls on to the next KDGA event. If an ace is hit by a KDGA member, half of the rolled over amount (in addition to the tourney's ace fund) will go to the person who aced. If a non-KDGA member hits the ace, they are only eligible for the ace fund from the current tourney.
