Destruction in Mulvane

Post by Shagen Wagon »

Need some help! Early last Saturday morning someone cut down several memorial trees in Mulvanes English Park. This act is giving disc golfers a bad name with the portion of the community that does not understand disc golfers. I have explained that true disc golfers would never cut down an tree or deface a coarse because the trees make the coarse. If anyone hears ANYTHING please contact me or our local police.
Thanks

I saw that on the news,we can`t seem to get a break at the Derby course either.Unfortunately vandalism happens and it`s tough to catch em`.

Shan was telling me about it today. That is nuts! It would have to be someone who plays the course several times a week, if it is a disc golfer. Keep your eyes open to see who is playing it.

Keep us posted on what goes down Tom.

Vandalism does suck.

We got out back window shot out on Saturday night. I live on a dead end block in not such a bad neighborhood.

You wonder how such a thing could happen. Then I saw some idiots at the park tonight (not league players) that ashured me that people can survive without their brains for many years and still cause those around them to desire to club some sense into their heads.

It's gonna get to the point where well have to put surveilance cams on the courses.

Trust me, I hear of anything, and find out who did it and we'll tie him up, take 'em to the country, call all the disc golfers and we'll play a friendly game of Human Head Soccer.

I'm sure we won't figure it out though. :?

Some one in the disc golf comunity has to know somethin. I think we should start a fund and put it up as reward for anyone who turns the culprits in. I'll donate $25. to get it started.
This kind of crap, could really hurt us if people think we r doing these things. We need to have the image of activly protecting the parks we use.
We r realy going to be watched in the near future so make sure u keep your trash picked up and be nice to non players in the parks.
I'd like to see our number of courses in the area incress but unless we can get ahold of the image we have in the area now, we will be loosing the ones we have.

How big were the trees? Did they use a chainsaw? Could be time for the KDGA to release a statement to the press condeming this behavior. I'll see what I can put together.

The trees were between 2 and 12 years old. The larger trees were the memorial trees. Our police are working hard on this. They called me at work to run some ideas by me.

If the tables and the trees are connected, it has to be someone from in or around Mulvane.

Wife and I are headed to Wichita today, I am going to swing by the park and see what trees got hammered.

What a bummer.

I visited the park, and found 2 trees that were missing. Both of which messed up holes 4 and 5. They were the first tree on the right side of the fairway. This made the straight shot the route, and an easier.

I would say that we have a right handed, picnic table stealing, tree chopping bandit on our hands.
