Who are you talking about??62 wrote:Look........... Year in and year out the same pro "frisbee" golfers run their mouth and piss people off.. Maybe these guys representing the sport should back off their "pro" attitude and help support the sport instead of discourging people away from the sport! who cares about east and west. PLAY THE F#$%ING GAME!! the same game you grew to love playing with your buddies. Yeah the same few talk their s$#t about people being AM. Well where did they start? You guys with your mouths have been pissing me off for the last two years. And you think your drawing people to the sport????????? Your not scaring me away but Im sure that there are alot of people that see your level of play and admire your game.. but then listen and "see" the way you talk down on the am players on here that are not willing to play in tournys due to your s$#t talking.... Grow up! support the sport in a possitive way or shut your f#$%ing mouth!! I mean goddamn whatever happen to having a good time hucking discs on the weekends with friends? Is it going to turn into whos pro and whos am? Whos east WHos west? If this is what kind of behavior the KDGA condones then you can count me and dozen more Disc golfers out. Maybe this doesnt go with this thread but Im sick of comming on here seeing all the same dudes talking the same s$#t. Your game and mouth may run a mile but REALLY it shows what kind of people you really are... And if this is the way its going to be I will not promote or guide anyone toword the KDGA.. Sorry Schoenhofer I didnt mean to beat your longest post
In the places I've lived, the pros do most of the work. Change pins, organize the tourny, get sponsors for the tourny, run league, encourage younger players. Not that an average player can't to all of this, but a casual player does not care about the player list, or how many points they get. They want the good time and some plastic.
When I have a question, I usually ask the local pro what's up. I've never had a pro talk bad about me because I'm an am player.
I did not join the kdga for points, the t-shirt, newsletter, or whatever. I joined because no matter who talks smack, I contributed to help the sport. To me it was more of a donation for all of us to be able to travel and play around the state. Support the sport and play your game.

In Wichita the ACDGC has a good mixture of both pro and am participation. Right now the bulk of the load falls with Bob and I (both ams) but the board of directors is split with three pros and four ams. As far as other volunteers it usually splits about 50/50 too .... all in all keeping a good balance of both keeps us keyed in on what it takes to build the sport outside the club and in .... keeping courses competitive for the pro's but not unreasonalble for the ams and newbies. For instance, now that the doo dah is over we went out today and split the pin placements between long and short so as to give back some birdie shots for the shorter arms and beginners. In the end run I'm with you ...just play the game and do all I can to encourage others to join in on the fun.Rim wrote:In the places I've lived, the pros do most of the work. .....
