Sometimes you just gotta throw your money in the pot and see what happens.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

Play with the Big Dogs or get off the porch!,

I enjoy playing with the best I can, beat Converse or MitchMac or EMac or Smitty scorewise but with no pressure cause you are bagging it as an AM means nothing beat him while on his card or competing in their divsion that means something.

Don't compare scores EVER unless you are in the same division with the same pressures to score.... otherwise it just isn't the same.

ROG, it sounds like you are saying that it is easy to take all the plastic from the real am players, but very difficult to even have a chance at cashing in open. That's pretty much what I'm saying. Many players play open cause they feel obligated. It's catch 22 for them. They don't want to donate tourney after tourney, but they feel guilty stealing the amateur's plastic.

Where's the incentive to move up? So far, all the statements made here point in the opposite direction.

I guess the biggest reason why this is of significance is for the sake of attendance.

Many of these people in limbo between division might decide that it would be an easy decision to stay home.

The PDGA has a good system. It kicks money up to pros and it prevents players from playing in divisions that there rating is too high for.

It's the non-PDGA events I'm wondering about. Not just in Kansas. Do other states have means of establishing divisions other than the honor system?
