WRONG

Post by Notorious ROG »

Why don't the Topeka & KC area player's join the KDGA?
If they did then there would have been 35 KDGA members present.....

You say tomato I say tomoto.....

I belong to PDGA, KDGA and ACDGC because I support the sport...

What is everyone else's motives?

why dont they just rename it the Wesern Kansas Disc Golf Association?

I am sure everyone that is a current member would still be down with the WKDGA.

It is really interesting that with the ammount of tournaments going on every week we are squabiling to get 25+ people to show up. Maybe we need to just drop half or three quarters of the KDGA events and get the ones that are kept sanctioned... I know that I personaly am more interested in going to a PDGA event than a KDGA event. (I do not attend any events that are run by commies, sorry)

the bottom line is

"cant we all just get along?"

My bad ROG, I thought support meant attending tournaments. I sure didn't drive to Ransom and DC because they were on the way home! I have attended many KDGA events for support. But I can't see handing a club money for them to not support my local town events. I bet you could count the number of KDGA members on one hand for the eastern events.

Yes smitty you did get some events out here, but what good are they if none of your members are willing to support them???
So your saying "here are your events, now give us our money"???
Leo: KDGA and I gave the tournament 4 shirts, this year and last years KDGA shirts and the last two years friz shirts. Ya maybe 4 shirt is not much but if they gave the shirts away in the payout, was money lost by having a KDGA event in their town? It all depends on the what Heddy valued the shirts at!

Q I agree that there are too many tournaments and they need to be slimmed down. The problem is that every town that has a course and players they want to have a tournament on their home course. From a club that is trying to grow the sport how do you tell another club you are not worthy? But I guess we are "commie" so that should be easy!

Are there too many events, it appears we may have diluted the attendance, or have we. Is it total yearly attendance or event attendance we are talking about?

My attendance is based on whether I have a gig in the band or family function, not who runs it, or sanctions it, or where it is at. I made it to Wyco & Ted's this spring. I missed the ones in my own back yard, cuz I had gigs. So I like more events, gives me a greater chance to play when I have a free weekend.

Support comes from attendance & membership.... not bitchin

I will take credit for the date! That was a BIG SCREW up on my part! The calender that I used was blank, I made it on the computer!

Mark I apologize for that!

With that said, how many of the golfer that didn't attend spent the day with their mother or their babies momma? If most of them are like me, it was a quick phone call and a how ya doing.

The reason for people not joining was the fact that there were no events to attend in the east. No Leo, I am not saying give us your money! The hope was to get more members by having more events to choose from. Then maybe the new members would be willing to journey to other courses to play in new events, to gain points.

As far as money goes. It is all paid back during the year!

The first big chunk that comes out is the shirts!
Then the BBQ at Beloit
Then the awards banquet
Finally what is left will be used as a bonus payout during the year.

The problem in the past was people thought that the $$ went to the FRIZ! In the past maybe it did! Now, the KDGA gives the Friz $0.00!

As long as people have the attitude of what have you done for me, or what will you do for me, Kansas Disc Golf will stay were it is!

I would love to have every event on the schedule be sanctioned, but it wouldn't pay. Most people don't know that it cost $$ to host a PDGA event. I payed $100.00 from my own pocket to have Ransom and DC be PDGA stops. We got 2 out of staters or "new" people there to play.

No it will stay how it is if we see no support for each other. And I don't want Tee shirts, I want members to support the events. Smitty I know you have done a bunch of hard work, but it is all going to waste if people are not going to participate.

"The problem in the past was people thought that the $$ went to the FRIZ! In the past maybe it did! Now, the KDGA gives the Friz $0.00!"

That don't really matter, since the friz pays out so well, you would be getting your money back in payout! And yes I am joking with you, all you winfieldites!!!

I bet there were a lot of golfers who did not go because it was on the mother of their kids day - - - obviously including me. Smitty is a man and owned up to his f. . . k up. From past experience, however, it is difficult enough to calendar a tournament let alone an entire oz tour. Someone would probably have a problem if a tournament was set the weekend before president's day.

Of course the facts are had I known and told momma that I had a shot at winning 200-400 dollars at a one day event in Topeka, she would probably say get the hell out of dodge and get me my 75% cut. :D I could have maybe brokered a deal.

In reality, I probably still would not of gone, but Heddy. . you didn't even mention $600 dollars added to the pro purse on Saturday. That kind of cash will get people to give up their mommas in a hurry.
