Baskets needed

Post by Shagen Wagon »

We will be presenting tonight (2-7-05) to the city council of Mulvane about installing a 9 hole coarse at their English Park. The presentation includes all new equipment. If anyone knows of decent used baskets forsale please let me know. The costs savings just might help it pass.

Used Baskets

Post by Eaglehigh99 »

You might want to contact Dennis Vasholtz (with Disc's Unlimited) or Bill Paulson about used baskets. They have some good contacts along these lines.

Also, Bill Paulson or Harvey Barger may be able to manufacture some decent baskets for a reasonable price. You can see how these look by going to the Derby course at 63rd & Woodlawn. I believe they charge about $175 - $200, but don't quote me on that.

If you would like some contact info, please PM me with your contact info and I'll pass it on.

Good Luck with the presentation!

affordable baskets

Post by terric »

Have you checked prices with Lightning? The baskets I've seen from him are very sturdy and affordable. You might save some $$ on used baskets but you're probably going to have repair costs. Chain ain't cheap!

When I installed the Dodge City course. I went with DGA, they hooked me up with t-signs for free.

I agree with Terri. You get what you pay for. Get a good quality basket. I like manufactured over home made. They catch better. The look better. They are more sturdy. They don't mess up your plastic.

What sales a course is the fact that it is a 1 time expence for the city. On there scale it is cheap also. For about $3000 you can instal a course that can be used by a wide range of people.

Thanks for the quick responses. The link that was provided for possible baskets seems like a good lead. They quoted me an affordable delivered price. Has anyone used these before? Great advise from all.

Update: Course was approved 100% for English Park tonight... so we have to go up against a forum in 2 weeks and after if there isnt any rejection, we'll be putting it in asap... English Park will be put in permanent, but theres plans on a new huge course being put in around a new park they have plans on constructing around a large pond on 111th which will replace English when it happens

Is the park hard to find? Also, Good Manufactured baskets are hard to beat. A one time cost and you are done. Be sure and get the kind that are moveable so you can have alternate pin placements. May not be important now but will be in the future.

Is English Park the one that is in your backyard? If so, it is right off K-15.

Check into the DGA discs. They sent mine with 1 sleeve/basket. If you are able to weld, you could make another for very little $$.

Bill is right. It may not seem like a big deal to be able to move pins when you first get a course. After a year or so of play erosion will be an issue. Also it is nice to have a little variety.

discout: right off K-15, cant miss it, but you'll have to drive through a neighborhood to reach the parking...

smitty: ya its that park right behind my house, I think hole 6 might even go into part of my backyard

we'll definitly look into the portable because these holes wont be up a long while, just until they finish up with that other park... so itll be nice to be able to just move them to the other and switch back if we even want to go oldschool
