When you have to choose between your woman and discgolf, don`t be stupid-choose the discgolf.
Jeff and I want to thank all those that attended this year and helped raise $865 for the scholarship. Half of this amount will be used toward 09's scholarship with the other half going toward capital appreciation. This tournament is about raising funds and does not produce great paybacks yet people come to play a new course (that Smitty scorched with an 87), support and build the scholarship foundation, and enjoy free food. It is also our goal to try and give you something different than ordinary trophies to thank you for your support. I hope they will spend many years in a prominate location in your abode. I want to thank my students that did over half of the work making these. If you were there and didn't get one, let me know so I can get you one. My 'counter' boy said there were 53 people when there were actually 43 so everyone should have gone home with one. You have one week to give me your name. Scoring average for all the pro divisions turned out to be 54.5 this year.

2 last things from me.discscout wrote: Thanks also to Smitty for the numerous discs that he donated.
First half of the discs that I sent with Burley were from the WVDGA. Our club was able to donate a few this year also. We needed away to get rid of a couple of Sidewinder anyway.
Second, I think that you should have made Harv and Bart play in the Open division. Sr. Grandmaster is an age protected division. I can think of many events that Grandmaster were forced to play in the Masters division, because of numbers. The entire division minus those 2 were Grand Masters.
So in my mind, here is the order of finish.

May have been one of the largest Grand Master divisons in Kansas history.

As far as Harv and Bart go, we, as a group said we would all play masters. So really, it was a Master Division and not a GM. I know that there are points for KDGA involved but as far as I was concerned, this tournament is about raising funds with a fun event. And because the payouts are so poor anyway, what difference did it really make, we could have all played pro. Poor payouts is why we try to give free food and cool trophies.
This was the 5th year for this fundraising tournament. And we posted our 100th participant. Only about 12-15 have helped the cause for 3 or more years. Once again, I want to thank all 100 of you that have donated your time, your money and your effort. (The 100 does not count those that have donated money in exchange for product at Octoberfriz.)
