Rails and Trails Open

Post by discunlm »

Hey everybody, if you enjoyed the spring tournament, lets try one in the fall. I was begged and cajoled into agreeing to host another tournament this year for the benefit of Heringtons' annual Rail and Trails Fall Festival. They were looking for ideas to get more people into town for their event and approached me with this idea. I said if there is an open date in the KDGA schedule that I would consider it. Lo and behold one day before the Pomona Tournament on Saturday the 27th was a open date. So here we go!!!

They would like the players to bring their families because there will be events scheduled all day long for all ages. Parade at 10, 5 K walk/Run, Trail Ride "need your own horse", Car show, motorcycle show, Chili cook-off contest, mini train rides, swap meet, kiddie carnival, arts and craft show, bar-b-que lunch, etc through out the day. All of this will take place on the other side of town at the south park. After 5pm is when they will have a soup supper to sample the Chili made for the contests.

The sponsorship money will be thinner than in the spring and there won't be any players packs because of the short time to prepare. I will change some holes around to make it flow faster so it won't take so long to play a round. There still will be 20 holes. No preregistration because I am not expecting as large a turnout as in the spring.

September 27th 9:30 players meeting 10:00 Tee Off

Open--$40
Pro Masters--$30
Pro Gr Masters--$25
Pro Women--$25

Am Masters--$25
Am1--$25
Intermediate--$25
Am 2--$20
Am Women--$20
HS and Jr--$10

Hope to see you that weekend.

p.s.
I will need about 4 baskets for this Saturdays Rails and Trails tournament in Herington on the 27th. Let me know if you can bring one or two.

Thanks,

Dennis

Looks like 20 players and 10 members. In the spring, when you have cold, wet, and windy everyone is playing tournaments. In the fall when it is absolutely gorgeous.... where is everyone? Had a great time anyway. Thanks Dennis!

I think it's $41 apiece. Mace could tell you for sure.
