Discs Unlimited Open

Post by discunlm »

Spring is in the air and it is that time of year again for our annual DU Open. It will be on Sunday April 5th. The tourney has filled up in the past and is limited to 100 players. Please pre-register at our website http://www.discsunlimited.net or give us a call at 785-258-2494. If something comes up and you can't make it, your entry fee will be refunded if you email me 24 hours ahead of time. If less than 24 hours we will send you reimbursement in tourney discs to cover your fee.

Lunch will be provided by a either a free will donation or nominal fee by some charitable Herington organization. Ace fund will be $5 and if none is hit then each division will throw off for their share after the 2nd round. We have added an Am Intermediate division and if there is enough interest, " 4 minimum", a Super Class division.

Last year I noticed a bottleneck on hole two. So this year we will have spotters out there so your disc should be retrieved and spotted on any OB throw on that hole. That should help the speed of play quite a bit.

$5 discount for preregistration

Pro Open $40/$45 day of tourney
Pro Master $30/$35
Pro Grandmaster $25/$30
Pro Women $25/$30
Am Master $25/$30
Am 1 Advanced $30/$25
Intermediate $25/$30
Novic or Recreation $20/$25
Am women $20/$25
High School $10/$15
Super Class $20/$25

Hope to see everybody soon.

I'll see you there.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

Thanks DU, you guys kick some series butt!

It will take more then a little snow and a ton of wind to keep me away.

If something comes up in the paper let me know. I know they took several pictures of my group the last round.

Spring is in the air
NOT! I was not inspired when it started snowing on my way to Herington.

I'd like to thank the ladies I got to play with. If it hadn't been for Robyn, Anita, Kile & her Hot Dam- that could've been a very miserable tournament. Thanks, girls, for the happy, healthy attitudes. We had fun despite the conditions.

I almost had a glorious moment: Hole 4 (shorty over the pond shot), 150 DX Eagle (1 of those "I don't care if I lose it" discs) my drive bounced off the top of the basket; just a couple inches lower & it could have been an ace, instead of an OB shot.
That would've been crazy- I've only gotten one other Ace & it was also an over the pond shot with a disc I never throw

Herington still remains on of my favs- Dennis & Annetta are great!
