Look at the size of these divisions...
Open - 61
Advanced - 63
Intermediate - 55
Any word on how the pins at Jones will be placed? Will it be the shorter layouts on Saturday, longer ones on Sunday, like last year?
Bigger MPO field than some NT events. (At least Green Country Open last year)

Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
Indeed, I had to check because I knew it was close.......First Class Challenge open division last year was exactly 61 competitors.......cooinkadink? I think not.mrsenortyler wrote: Bigger MPO field than some NT events. (At least Green Country Open last year)

Sounds like next year its time to add a temp course and get another 72 players in the tourney. I really wanted to go but wasn't about to sign up this early and then posibly not beable to go at the last minute. bummer thats its full but good job jermy at making the glass blown one of the biggest events in Our area.

Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
There is still the course at the Middle School....I've never played it but Jeremy seriously thought that we could make something work for next year. I guess we'll come to that after we see how things go this year.

Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
the open divisions would never play that and i can hear all kinds of complaints coming from the ams. better idea would be the camp alexander course or setting up the temp course at the zoo than playing a course of 200'-250' holes

True, I think he was thinking about stretching out the course, and adding some rope. There'd be complaints about that too.

I think we might be on to something here..nastyNate wrote:might have to come down to splitting the GBO to pro and am weekends

Or we could just focus on making 270 people extremely happy and ready to come back the following year. Look at some of the best events: Vibram and Memorial for example. Fill every year never add courses, always have happy players.
After this event. The DD crew will sit down and discuss changes that need to be made before the next event. We do this after every event we run.
Adding sub-par courses and splitting the weekend could really take away from the experience that is the GBO.
DD does have a few surprises that may come out of the bag before to long.

Sorry I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers. Just wanted to make a suggestion that was on other peoples minds too.

well being my frist time there i think that jermy and all the other D.D crew know what is going on and the only thing i would like to see is that they move all the pins back to the long setting on what we call the gary course so that way we can play it and have more fun lol

Well then, you are in luck. Both courses will pretty much be maxed out. Unless the short hole is much better.

I'm so excited I may just wet myself.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
