Travelers
from Ponca City take Lake road east almost to Kaw Dam.look for Sun n Fun signage. turn left(north) towards Camp Mcfadden on the curve just before Sun n Fun! Go a mile . The last 1/2 of this is dirt. The road comes to a "t". Turn right (east) 250 ft. Camp ground driveway (on your left) is a long driveway.See You There

So, did the Metal Militia sleep "in tents" or was it INTENSE?

Did you cook the books or did Ron save some results for this event? How many KDGA members made it down there?

Hey now -- I think a lot of people did a lot of work to put on a really cool event.

I know everyone that I've talked to had a blast, enjoyed the course, and really enjoyed the good food.

There was some confusion at the end, which is probably due to not working out all of the details in advance. Learn from it and improve the flow for next year. It's that simple.

:!:  If you are going to criticize, make it constructive. :!:

Sorry guys, as you might have guessed ,Brad (cookie) and I are having problems. To put things straight... because neither Brad or Tim could pony up the money to be a KDGA member I listed it under my name to make it a KDGA event .The money that paid for the am payout was from entry fees.Yes, the tournament purchased the Disc golf bags ,trophies ,etc out of the entry fees. To give Brad credit ,after all was said and done, he added 50.00 to the winner of the ace throw off(at least he said he was going to)

Thanks to all who came and played the course. I hope that even though it was tough you had a good time. Many thanks to Harv and his wonderful mom who provided great food for all! Thanks to the gal who filled out cards and helped get the tourney started. Thanks to Stew for awesome deer steaks after I finished moving the baskets (with Brendan`s help) Sat. night. Thanks to Reggie for providing the Discs used for payout as well as donating his time. Thanks to all the people who came out and cleaned the trees out of the fairways. Thanks PONCA CITY DISC GOLF CLUB! I think the course was fair to all though Harv Barger told me it was a lefty course! I will get the results posted eventually, but due to other things I`ve been really busy.
On a sadder and more twisted note ,after leaving the course Sunday night with 1/2 mile of driveway and a locked gate ,the basket that Smitty had loaned the tournament came up missing. It might be because I had been using it at my house so I brought it ....It was the basket hanging from the wire .Yellow top If found please return to Smitty.
Next time you see my name on an event it will be because I am in charge and I promise that it will be an event worth attending.

OK, I am not going to let you attack Ron. I was not there, so I do not know what all went on. What I do know is this. I have talked to many people since the tourney has ended. Most loved the course, most thought that the organization was very lacking.

I think that the biggest problem is this, an event either needs to be for fun, or as a serious event. Both things can not happen and make all the players happy.

Here is my responce:

cookie wrote:Screw Ron~~~He did not do a damn thing to but put his dumn name As Td~~
Not true, Ron contacted me and made sure the date was OK. He also wanted to make sure that we wanted this event, and not the normal Lake Ponca event on the KDGA schedule.

cookie wrote:Tim Payed Rod To Be KDGA MEMBER And Be TD ~~~BUT RON DIDNT GIVE THE MONEY TO SMITTY~~~~~ SO???
If Tim gave Ron money, it will be given to me the same time the tourney fees are given to me. I am 100% sure that will hapen this weekend in Emporia.
cookie wrote:Brad put in $700 of his own money to pay The AMs in disc's
That is great that you bought a ton of discs. Ams love to pick their payout. I hope that you got all of them from Reggie. He is has helped out the KDGA for years. If $700 dollars of discs were bought, that is a tourney value of about $1250.
cookie wrote:~ANd Ron donated 5 Disc~~~Screw Ron~~~
If all 5 discs were atleast Z plastic. That would be a $45 dollar value to the tourney at discraft 1000 disc price. That the tourney would charge $75 in payout price, that is a pretty good chunk of money.
cookie wrote:OH ya Brad also bought the trophies~~
All trophies should be subracted from the payout before it is final. So those should have been paid for.
cookie wrote:And Don Cook Bought all thr Disc Bags
If the bags were part of a prize, the event made atleast $10 of of each bag. If not, they should of been figured into the payout.
cookie wrote:Atso Harve Young's Mother gave us all that food[/qutoe]

This is where a problem can occur. The club should be responsible for paying her and thanking her. To me, this is just an added bonus to get more people to your tourney.

Thank you PCDGC for running a great tourney on a great course, that many players enjoyed.
