Smitty has put a bunch of hard work in to designing the new layout. This year is a must for everyone's tournament schedule! I never would have imagined that two 18 hole courses could work out there. This format is going to be great. Forget having to play two-five hour rounds on Saturday! The Sunday monster round is always a blast! This format will also allow us to not turn players away this year which is exciting for the growth of the sport and growth of the event. Lets hit a new record this year and get 140+ players! Looking forward to this one for sure.

This tourney is two weeks away. Start getting signed up so you have your spot reserved. Should be a huge turn out for the KDGA members since it is a triple point event. See everyone there.

I would like to stress what Kindy is saying here. Mainly from a planning point of view. We have the potential to have 180 players this year. The biggest reason for the split was that we didn't want to have to turn anyone away. The last couple of years we have been around the 120-130 mark. This year if we are going to go over the 130 number we will want to implement tee times on Sunday to allow for a faster flow to the Sunday round.

This is going to be a sweet weekend of Disc Golf for sure. The Frontier is one of the if not the longest running event in Kansas.

Is there going to be camping? What about electricity? If not, would anyone be interested in sharing a room? If someone between Pittsburg and Hays wants to carpool and share gas my thoughts are to leave Pittsburg sometime Friday morning. Unless if someone knows of a better place to be that weekend...LLLLLOOOOOLLLLL. Let me know if your interested.

I've never been to Hays for the FO so I don't know which is better...camp or hotel.

Kevin-

There is a camp ground about a half mile from the course. It is pretty much a DUMP! I would suggest motel if I were you.

What route do you take to get to Hays? That may help you find a co-pilot.

So are you saying there isn't a good place to setup my camper? I'm probably going to take the week off now and would go to Chanute and help my parents out by mowing their 5+ acres of yard on Thursday. The best route from there is through El Dorado , north of Wichita to Salina then to Hays.

It's an OK place to set up the camper, but don't expect much in the line of amenities. They don't have a shower if I remember right. There is also a place SE of Hays a mile or two where we parked the RV, it was like an old motel. They gave us a key to the room for a shower, but I wouldn't have been surprised if people had been murdered there.

Smitty,
You said you might have some maps of the two 18-hole courses.........so are they made? I might be near Hays this coming weekend, so I might just want to check out the courses.
If no maps, are the tee pad areas clearly marked? Thanks for all the work you and the Hays crew have done to get the courses ready!

Smitty posted the maps on facebook... I believe they were on the DD fanpage, but might of been on his profile. There are quite a few holes that are temporary so you won't necessarily be able to play them...

Dang! Looks like I'll be missing the frontier open for the first time in a few years! I'm really bummed about it.

On the other side, it is going to be exciting making making our first vintage of wine. A lot of work has led up to this point. It will be rewarding to start and see some results to all our work thus far.

I will try to get them linked to this thread tonight.

Sorry, but I don't have complete internet access at work. Something about Porn and wasted time.

East/West course. There are a few distances missing, but we are working on getting them added in.
