Just for your information the Am pools have been announced and can be viewed here: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=8105
Looks like most of the KDGA ams are in pool K except for yours truly and a few of the Topeka and Kansas City players.

Going to Kansas City? Worlds Is For Non-Players Too!

With nearly 950 players registered, the 2009 version of the PDGA Disc Golf World Championships will be the largest competitive assembly of disc golfers in the history of the sport. We’re tracking players from 45 states and 12 countries, who will be vying for championship titles in 22 divisons.

We’re inviting everyone within reasonable driving distance to take part in the Worlds activities. We’re especially hoping to draw the largest gallery ever at Blue Valley Park for the finals on August 1. Read more about this below.

Worlds’ Activities.

Tuesday, July 28, Westin Crown Center Ballroom, 8:00 p.m. Star Par Talent Show & Jam Session—Sponsored by Innova.
This promises to be a fun, lively evening of entertainment as disc golfers show off some of their non-disc golfing skills. Spots are limited. If you want to perform, contact Becky: borntoshimmer2003@yahoo.com, 785.250.8300. If you have an axe, bring it.

Wednesday, July 29, 7:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Westin Crown Center Ballroom. Fly Mart. There will be at least 80 tables full of disc golf stuff for buying and, maybe, even trading. If you’ve got something to sell and are interested in purchasing a table, contact Rick: rick@discgolfworld-.com, 816.471.3472 or 816.914.0094.

Thursday, July 30, Westin Crown Center Lobby, 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. Par Crawl/Urban Mini Disc Golf Doubles Tournament.
Yes, it’s a Pub Crawl, but we’re dubbing it the “PAR-CRAWL” because not only do you visit three nearby watering holes (all within walking distance) but you get to play some mini-golf while you’re there! Entry fee? What entry fee? There is none! We’ve designed 12 holes (six of them after dark) and will play random-draw doubles for a truly memorable experience! Prizes for the winners. Contact Becky: borntoshimmer2003-@yahoo.com, 785.250.8300.

Friday, July 31. Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (7:00-8:30) and Worlds Players’ Party. Crossroads KC at Grinders (419 E 18th St. Enter on the west side of the venue).
This is a special year for Kansas City disc golf as two long-time Kansas City disc golfers—Crazy John Brooks and Lynne Warren—are being honored with induction into the Disc Golf Hall of Fame. The ceremony will kick off the players’ party that will feature the band, Cowboy Mouth. While there is no cost for tournament players to attend the ceremony only, others can still get the special Worlds offer and enjoy the full evening’s festivities. For $15, you get the ceremony, the party, the band, and receive a $10 voucher for food and drink at either Grinders restaurant. The price at the door is $15, but without a voucher. You can buy tickets at discgolfworld.com: http://www.discgolfworld.com/product_de ... G935QB67F3
Here's a bit more about the Crossroads KC venue:
The KC Crossroads is connected to two Grinders restaurants; Grinders East is a classic dive bar that will feature a pared down "special events" menu with pizza, a couple of small salads, selected sandwiches, wings, and an incredible selection of beer (but Bell's is our party sponsor.) Beer list: http://grinderspizza.com/index.php?/grinders/beerlist/ Here's the menu for Grinders West, a brighter and more nutritious restaurant: http://grinderspizza.com/index.php?/grinderswest/menu/. There will be only limited seating outdoors—some bleachers and picnic tables.
Contact Rick: rick@discgolfworld.com, 816.471.3472 or 816.914.0094.

Saturday, August 1. All day. Finals. Blue Valley Park. Smaller divisions finals will be in the morning. Divisions that play semi-finals will begin teeing off for the finals around 12:30 p.m. Amateur divisions will go first, followed by the pros. Open division tee off will be around 4 p.m. Visit http://kcworlds.com for a full schedule. There will on-site vendors with disc golf wares, as well as food and drink, for sale. Our goal for Saturday is 2000 people in the park that will attract the attention of the media and will produce some great photos and videos showing how vital this sport is. It will be a fun-filled day that is sure to be remembered by all who attend! Be there.

I am in Pool R (Advanced Grandmasters). Tough crowd this year. 72 players and only 13 have a rating equal to or lower than mine. Anyone want to bet that I can place better than that. So far I have "cashed" in 3 of the 5 World's that I have participated in (made it to semi's in Des Moines). 8)

From the KCFDC board.
There might be some rumors out there about the players' packages, and if phat and/or fat have been modifiers, then it's true. Here's a rundown of what the ams are getting: a commemorative Discraft Super Color Crystal Z-Stalker (affixed to the bottom of 100 of these is a coupon to redeem at the Fly Mart for a free Ringer), a commemorative After Shock from the DGA, a Ching Genesis and a commemorative Ching standard bag in hot orange, a commemorative GDS disc and mini set, a Lightning Disc, a commemorative tournament performance shirt and towel, a performance shirt (different worlds logo) from Innova, a commemorative Wham-O mini from Discovering the World, a coozie from Disc Unlimited, a coupon for free pizza at Pizza Shoppe, a coupon redeemable at the Fly Mart for a commemorative Star San Marino Roc from Innova, a nice looking full-color program, and a course rules booklet. Also, the juniors receive an additional shirt from Scientificdiscgolf.com and a commemorative bottle cap from Becky Zallek. Women will also get the bottle cap. In addition, the Innova shirt for females is styled for women.

Pros will get all of the above except no golf disc from DGA and GDS, and no coozie. They will get an ESP version of the Stalker (no ringer coupons). In addition, they will get a Frisbee.
Sweet!
