I took the Google map into AutoCAD and traced it. The scale Google had looks right for some holes but not for others. Hole #1 is somewhere between 800 & 900 ft. and #14 is about 350 ft.

Can you give a summary of the course changes?

Last year, I posted a detailed hole-by-hole review, but can't find it anywhere. From the map, it looks like 7, 8, & 9 are different? What other holes?

Also seems like I remember the distances being posted last year, but couldn't find them.

The course we played last year was pretty killer. Some classic holes, and you can't beat a golf cart, BBQ, & keg beer! The fast greens were amazing. The course flow was good, but there were a few holes that could have been tweaked a little to make them much better.

Here are the holes I remembered liking:

13!: Shortish, but very tricky anyhyzer into a clearing in the trees.
2: Reachable downhill birdie opportunity, but enough trouble to get some bogies as well.
4: Wide open, but reachable. The part i like was the basket was perched on a servere slope that meant if you weren't pretty close, you had a very scary putt.
6: Lots of pines through the middle with big lefty & righty hyzer options. Would love to see more holes utiltize these great trees.
10: Way too long to birdie, but this was a great par 3.5 hole. Saw many going OB trying to shortcut the hole for no good reason. Liked how the water hazard snuck into the fairway and loved the uphill approach that had to be attached from the side.
14: Good water hole. Should be a birdie, but that water gets in your head a little and if you bail out left, you have a "death putt".

Good / Bad:
15/16: Can't remember if the sidewalk was on one or both of these. Maybe it was just 15. These shorties would be great holes if the sidewalk to the right was OB. As they were, they were duece or die holes. Better holes seperate the good players rather than the bad. To make these holes better, a little shorter & tricker for a par 3. Or a bit longer & tricker for a true par 4.

Didn't Like:

1: Awesome looking 800'+ opening hole right down a fairway. Trees only in play for those bad drives from people trying to crush it. The reason the hole was not right was the distance. Few players have the D to make 3 and those that do are not likely. So a well played hole and a poorly played hole both result in a score of 4. Make it 60' shorter and it might be a much better & funner hole.
3, 7, 8, 9, 17, 18: These holes all fell into the same boat: Too long to birdie and too open to bogey. Like an Auto-3 hole, with poor scoring sperad. Since the bogey is more likely due to players trying to force a birdie that isn't there, the hole seperates the worst players rather than the best, which also isn't ideal.

What would be cool:
-The coolest shot on a ball golf course is throwing a roller through the short grass and watching it go forever! How about a hole that rewards a good roller?
-How about an awesome par 5 over/under/around a tree row, with an OB cartpath that doglegs? Or something crazy like that? A hole that made you scratch your head at how to best attack it? Perfect location to utilize something like this.
-How about having a hole or 2 where the fairway line was an OB line? It makes for the perfect line! Here's an idea: instead of outside the fairway is OB, how about inside is OB? Think hole 5, an optimal visual, because it plays downhill & diagonally with the fairway. The basket is close to some gnarly trees and there is tallgrass beyond, which is OB. Say you made it a little longer and said the fairway was OB? Players could still bail out left, but have a tough approach. Or you could gun at it, just don't go too far!

Great course, but the potential is there to make a masterpeice- USDGC style!

Mike you were right on the hole cahnges als0 holes 2 and 3 were also changed,
#1 the basket will be tucked to the right of the farway.

#2 was straighted out to put more trees into play.

Hole 3 is alittle shorter than what the map shows it was moved into the trees and made a slight uphill shot no standard hyzer.

#9 is up and down through a small valley with trees on the right for added trouble.

Sounds good, depending on who the strippers are.

I'll be signing up tuesday
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
