As soon as we find a Newtonian with a 970+ rating, we are going to have one tough team. Y'all be careful.

Update this week:

After consulting a few people have determined that the Masters spot needs to be someone who is 40+ and rated below 960. You might refer to this as the Ron Convers rule if you like but I think we have a few other people who would have skewed the teams.

That is all for the day!

Booooooo! Worst rule ever!!!!

Why should a team be punished for having a good or the best masters player player. That is part of a team. That is like telling a basketball coach he cannot play his 5 best players!

Names that come to mind!
Ron, Randy, Harvey

I think any of the 3 of those guys could beat the others in 9 holes on any course any time.

what is the deal with 960 and under to play masters? rules should not be catered to people who express their fears of a good competitor to the TD. All the masters players i know shred, Mattingly, Curtis, Iqbal, The Duck, Downtown, D.B.2gRV, DM4, 2-away, Harvey, Ronverse just to name a few...and some still play open which is awesome too. Seeing any of these guys going toe to toe for 9 holes would be dvd quality stuff... if their rating is below 960, they cannot fill the masters spot on a team??? so if this thing is gonna get weird with the numbers, then the people filling up Kind'ys ears with fears will be fine with Bo playing advanced if his rating is 1 or 2 points below the advanced limit? sketchy...

If you don't play him as the advanced player if he qualifies, you don't want to win!

I like:
1) Open
2) Master + (Just what it says, any Master)
3) Advanced (Below the max pdga rating)
4) Int (Below the max pdga rating)
5 Swing (Any women, jr, or senior Grandmaster)
----We don't have a dominate person in Kansas in any of these divisions.

I was talking with Kindy about the Converse rule. I believe his intent was to have a 5th member in the woman, jr or less skilled older (master) player be able to compete on the team. Smitty's roster makes it easier to field a team w/o ratings being a factor, except for the 5th member. A sr g-master (Burley) against am women or jrs? I believe again that Kindy needs to be able to judge the ability of the 5th member. I also don't think any team should be restricted because 2 or 3 players are too good. Obviously some towns are at a big disadvantage. Kindy may have to revise several times if towns can't meet the requirements to field a team.

I think Burley Vs. Twitch Vs. Duh would be a pretty good battle.

But yes, I hope to have Burley as my swing player. :D

Serious? I qualify for advanced. I plan to win but how pathetic would we have to be to play me as advanced and Sweets as intermediate? Bitter beer face. But I do like your suggested break down of divisions. Will be interesting to see how all this works. Bigger towns may or may not dilute their musk into too many teams. How big is too big for regional teams? Divide by county(ies)? Can a town like Newton/Hutch/Mac/etc pull teammates from surrounding towns? Or hypothetically if EMac wanted to play, does Emporia get him? Can I run for mayor of Wichita because my wife's wedding dress is still there? You know? Might take a year or two to work out the kinks but I'm diggin the idear.

Emac lives in Emporia again, so yes he could be part of their team.

Swede your current rating is 3 points to high to play as the advanced player for Newton.

Sweets would be 5 points to high to play in the int. division for Newton.

Really? I'd been working on a team with Randy Brown & Austin. Guess I'm gonna have to start over.
