Winfield KDGA Points Bonanza Weekend!!!!

If you could get the raw photos up and online pre-tourney, we could work on a more polished version with flight paths and distances perhaps this weekend. That way we (I) can see the courses I've never played.

What program do you use for the flight paths? I was using Picasa and got the pictures with hole info on them.

You'll need to do the flight paths first, then do the picasa part. I use CorelDraw 13 on my laptop, but I was just playing with InkScape (free) and it looks like it'll do about the same thing. Inkscape is a bit quirky and I'm not really familiar with it but it looks like it'll do it.


Here's my general process:

Import each photo to a CorelDraw (or Inkscape) document as the base layer.

Add a new layer on top of the photo (to hold the diagrams etc.).

Add the hole #, hole distance & arrow line, or just the arrow line - sponsor logos, etc...

Save/export to a new JPG file.

Then create a new Album in Picasa for each 18 hole layout, adding subtitles/descriptions in Picasa if desired.

Then upload to the albums to Picasa WebAlbums and post the link back here. --or-- Export the Album to an HTML site via Picasa and upload that folder to your website via FTP (I use FileZilla for FTP uploading). -

The best place for us to park, may be over by the basketball court next to hole 5. It would do a couple of things. It would maybe keep people from coming to the playground if there is no parking close to it. It would also keep us from hitting any nondiscgolfers car.

You will have to weave around the park to get over there, but it will be closer to the parking lot then the main parking lot.

From main street.


Cherry Street:
Take 9th street East from main.
Turn South on Cherry Street.
Stay on Cherry until you see the park.
***The best place to park is on the Northeast side of park next to hole 5. You will have to weave your way around to find it, or just park in the main parking lot.

Southwestern:
Take 9th to Viking blvd.
Turn North
You will pass the WHS and WMS, the course is on the West side of road.
****The parking lot will fill quickly. The best place to park may be on Viking Blvd. or the dirt road.
