The 19th annual Wichita Ice Bowl will be held Sunday January 27, 2008. 8) We are considering an alternative to the "traditional" location so we'll give you more details later. :) We look forward to seeing all of you there.

I went to an Oaklawn board meeting last night and got the approval to set up a course in their park and to use their facility (nice) for our chili feed.

Though we could still use Central Riverside in future years, we thought it would be good to utilize this huge park for a brand new course and let the community get a taste for it. Who knows, maybe they'll want to fund a permanent course? This park is plenty big for it and the good news for the ice bowl: there will be some Blair Witch holes in the woods!

Hopefully we'll have some details on the event soon. We may need some volunteers to help with this event. I'll try to round up some more info.

Bill went out and flagged the layout for this course today. So it's "ready to practice".

I haven't helped much before with organizing this event. Does anyone know who in the past has brought baskets?

I'd like to know if anyone can commit to bringing one or more so we can make sure we'll have enough. I haven't even started the list yet.

I've got my Instep basket, and someone else at league yesterday had one too (Andy maybe). Let me know if you want me to bring it.

I've got an InStep too. We've never had to use them before. I just don't know who all has brought baskets in the past.

Thanks Jason.

We got the ok to get keys to the gates that lead to the paths that many of the baskets are pretty close to.

Bill is bringing 4 and Bob is bringing 2. That's 8 so far.

Sweet. That's a long haul Ruder. I'll make sure to let you know if I round up enough baskets before you load up.

I got to walk the course today. There are some short, wooded holes and some really long ones too (a few par 4's). Lots of wild shots out there. This park has much more potential than I originally imagined, as Bill displays. The open area is kinda like the Pecan Grove in Winfield. Some of the wooded holes are a little like the tunnel shots at Daniel's.
