Ice Bowl Season

The KDGA is going to team up with all the Ice Bowl TDs. This year we are going to make 1 Ice Bowl in each region a KDGA event. All Current KDGA members will get 10 bonus points for playing an Ice Bowl. Mike will not add these points later in the year. You MUST be a member by the end of the Ice Bowl to get your points.

The KDGA is going to ask the TDs to take the $2/head that we normally ask for and donate it to their local charity.

Here are the dates and locations.
Jan 26 Topeka
Jan 27 Wichita
Feb 2 Hays
Feb 16 Pratt
Feb 23 Salina

Play one of these events, earn some easy bonus points, and help out a local charity.

I didn't really think about that. It would be nice to start building up the Ace fund for 2008.

The KDGA always has a rolling ace fund. We normally get half the ace fund from a tourney.

STR8 had a $500+ ace a couple years ago.

Ok I guess I dont get this . What Is the plus side to being a KDGA member? IM already a ACDGC member and If I want to save ten bucks at turneys I will need to be a PDGA member . so Why should some one sign up for the KDGA? Is there a package? Do we get discounts at turneys? Imeen really I dont worry about hitting the ace fund when I go to events . the way courses are set up and the distance I throw Its just not real hight on my list of hopefuls.

Well, it's pretty cheap, and I think you get a t-shirt and a disc.
Chances at ace money in KDGA tournys (when you pay the $5ace fund fee)...
Free food at Beloit tourny

And of course then there is the points race.

I really think that every disc golfer in Kansas should be a KDGA member.

The cost is $25.

For the price you can get:
$5.00 off you PDGA fee
A full color KDGA shirt
A KDGA disc
Free BBQ in beloit
Free meal at the banquet
Points race and qualify for the finals
Able to win half of the ace fund at a KDGA tourney

Most everyone who played several events and was competitive in their division qualified for the finals. Everyone who played in the finals got $25 or more!

Chris asked about our club membership.

It is $15 and $10 for renewals made on or before the Ice Bowl. With it you get $1 off disc purchases and eligibility to win half of the ace fund, which occassionaly gets up to several hundred dollars. We have a membership drive in October that gets people a free disc and free meal and a free tournament for their membership. The club does a lot in return to pay back its members. See thread on what ACDGC accomplished in 2007.
