New LED Lights

I just tried the new flat style LED lights. So much better than the old pull-on type! First, they don't accidentally turn on and run out the battery. The batteries are bigger, so they last longer. There are 3 modes instead of one, including slow blink and fast blink. The flat shape makes them easier to stay on the disc. The are slightly cheaper, averaging $3 each. 5 different colors. But the best thing I like about these is the ease which you can apply them to your disc. I like to use packing tape. One piece of tape about 3" long. You can take it off and re-apply it many times and it will still stick. If it does wear out, don't pull the tape off the light. It will tear the outside paper off the light. Just cut the tape off at the edges of the light and go over it with a new piece of tape.

Been using these lights quite a bit lately. Been putting them in the drink at Edora quite a bit lately. Seem to be waterproof.

Are you ordering these online? Saw some advertised on Disc Nation...

I have a few with the ACDGC discs; will probably get more. I'm sure DD sells them. Of course you can get just about anything at discsunlimited.net.

I found the lights + shipping to be a little cheaper at DD and I had them the next day!

I bought some 5mm LEDs off of ebay. 20 of them were less than $5 shipped. picked up a few 3v watch batteries and taped the contraption down using clear shipping tape. works perfectly. I put four lights and a battery on the bottom of a disc and it adds between 2 and 3 grams total to the weight.

After playing 4 evening rounds with the lights, I have yet to have a problem w/ lights and the batteries are still working fine.

the lights you refer to are superior, I played with a guy using them tonight and plan on picking some up tomorrow or Saturday.
