Hole #19 Camp Hawk
Hole #19 Camp Hawk
Someone has stolen basket #19 from Camp Hawk. Keep your eyes and ears open.
Re: Hole #19 Camp Hawk
Hey, whoever took the bucket,
You've probably realized by now you can't actually use the thing at home. Even if your conscience isn't eating you, you know that one of your buds is gonna know that the bucket belongs at the course where countless people can enjoy it for free. He's eventually gonna let someone know and it isn't going to end well. So please just drop the basket off at the course. All will be forgotten and we will have our course back.
And just in case you were thinking that the basket would just be replaced and life would go on, it won't. There is no money. Newton has no club. The county has no money. They can't fix the ranger's house, they aren't going to fix the leaking pond, they've farmed out the mowing to the lowest bidder, they even spent the money they made off of the tournaments we've run out there. They've quit removing the trees around the water. Everything you see happening out there is volunteer labor. That is people not only giving their time but also their funds to keep the course alive. The county won't even pay to mow the "annex" (holes 7 thru 13). The same very small group of folks has been chipping in to pay for gas and equipment rental to keep the thing playable. You aren't stealing from the government or Wal Mart or some rich uncle. We are all broke like you we just really want a great place where we can play some golf.
So please do the right thing and give us our course back. Hell, I'll swap you my practice bucket for #19 and not get anyone else involved. Email me, [email protected].
Thanks,
Brandon
