Derby Singles League

Greetings All!

Beginning April 16th, we will begin having a singles league at Stone Creek in Derby. I have been talking to some of the players around the course and we have a large contingent of newer/novice players as well as some more experienced players who would like to see a league down here in Derby. So here is the scoop:

We will be playing on the first, third and fourth Mondays of each month. In order to not conflict with the Mulvane event we will be playing on Wednesday during the second week of each month. We will begin registering at 5:30 and tee off at 6:00.

We will be offering an advanced and novice division as well as a middle/high school division for our younger players. Our goal is to have a good mix of player so that newer players will have the chance to get some lessons/tips from the more experienced players.

Initially there will be no cost to take part of the league. We are hoping to get people who otherwise have not had the chance to take part in a league to be able to join us. As we progress and get a membership base we will begin looking into prize and ace funds as well as the potential for a tournament.

We will, however, be keeping score and tracking everyone's scores to develop handicaps as well as to get everyone a taste of the fun that competition can bring.
