Topeka Fundraiser Tournament at Perry June 22nd

Post by Gwaltney »

Fundraiser tournament on Saturday, June 22nd at Longview Park at Perry! This is a great new course if you haven't played it. Long, very technical, major elevation change on almost every hole.

Thanks for the support from the Topeka disc golf community, hope you can join us, let me know if your in!

Just a heads up....A buddy and I went out to check this course out on Saturday. We've heard great things and was definitely impressed with the layout.

Unfortunately we were only able to play the first 5 holes due to the amount of Ticks. It was absolutely covered with Ticks! Think 'Arachnophobia' only with Ticks.

I would love to come back and visit this course but there definitely needs to be some sort of pesticide sprayed out there.

Hello all...Yes the ticks are a problem and the rangers have been spraying....If you have a spray with a high percentage of deet in it the ticks aren't that bad...A few of us have been out there recently and mowed the greens and fairways up on top of the course and will be out there again before the tournament to finish up with trimming and mowing...This should help with the tick and mosquitoes for the tournament...also, a few of us will be camping at the campground around the corner from the course on Friday and Saturday nights....This should be a good time and I recommend coming out...A lot of hard work has gone into this course and continued hard work will help all summer...

Another solution for the ticks is to find a powder called sevendust...this can be rubbed on skin and is another great way to be tick free
