The Spring Invitational tournament is an opportunity for players to participate in an atmosphere that will be appealing to disc golfers of all skill and experience levels and introduce newer players to competitive disc golf. The proceeds from this tournament will help establish a Carey Park Disc Golf club fund that would be used for course maintenance to the Carey Park course, league administration expenses, and raise money for the proposed 43rd Avenue Park project.

Josh, as with many disc golf tournaments, there is another important event on that day. Before posting this, did you check the KDGA schedule. If there are conflicts, it hurts the turnout at both events. In this case the Tick Ranch tournament is that date. It is very important to the young disc golfers as this is the tournament that raises the funds for the Kansas Disc Golf College fund. (Discgolfers providing college scholarships to young disc golfers). I am not trying to start a fight, but I would like to you re-think your date. I would like both of these events to be as large as possible. Respectfully, Mike Speer

Thanks for letting me know, Mike. Last year, these events were also scheduled on the same day. I am a college student and chose the last Saturday of spring break. This will give me a chance to be back in Hutchinson for the week prior and make any necessary administrative adjustments and have the course prepared in time for the tournament.

We did consider the move to make this a KDGA Oz Tour event, but I expressed the fact that the Tick Ranch tournament is already on the KDGA Schedule for that weekend. I did not want to have two KDGA tour events battling for participation, so I will keep this a non-KDGA event. I figured that anybody who is heavily involved in KDGA or chasing tour points will have higher priority for the Tick Ranch tournament. The Spring Invitational is meant to attract local (Hutchinson) players and extend an invitation to our summer league.

Indeed it shall, Travis! If it weren't for the weather, we'd be having a real fine day of disc golf on our hands. Just got the temp course lined out with OB and tee flags. All it needs now is signage and baskets. Huge thanks to anyone who's braving the nasty conditions to participate!

Had a fun time! Froze after jumping in the pond for my disc catcher..... I lost my westside giant its pink with a punisher dye. If you guys find it thatd be awesome
