Whats it worth ? ? ?

Post by disclizard »

Though I would start a forum post about what some thing is worth.

Have any discs or other disc golf gear that you would like to know what it's worth ? POST IT HERE If you think you might have an opinion of what some thing posted is worth post that too.

I'll start .... I have a set of minis all in mint condition. They are Ten minis from the first ten years of WORLDS BIGGIST. all difernt colors and no fading at all . kept in a plastic bag. plus a bonus mini from the tenth year in GLOW also in mint. WHAT ARE THEY WORTH ?

It's really tough to tell because you never see people that sell or collect mini's. I keep track of tons of stuff on ebay to see what things are selling for, but never looked for a mini.

I have a hot pink 180 gram Super Roc with a 2005 PDGA world championsip stamp on it. It is in mint condition, it has never left the plastic sleeve I bought it in. What's it worth?

JOL, I have actually seen a price guide for collectible ROC's online. I don't remember where it was, so it may take a little googling, but I bet you can find it. If I happen to stumble across it, I'll post the link..........

I don't know that much about collectable discs, but I do know a few things.
Most of what I know is about modern discs. There is a ton to learn about flying disc history!

The Complete Book of Frisbee, by Victor A. Malafronte, is a good reference
book for collectors and is very interesting from a historical standpoint. (it also has a price guide, but it has been out for several years and it has not been updated).

I don't know what "World's Biggest" minis are worth. Most of the value in a
disc, in my opinion, comes from either a historical value (i.e. Frisbee Pie Tin),
a really good flight characteristic (Midnight Flyer), or because they
are associated with a certain popular player (anything Ken Climo), or low
numbers (not many produced), or first run disc, or a great event (Players Cup). I just gave one
example for each thing but there are tons of examples out there. Some discs
are all of the above (2001 USDGC CE Roc hard to beat!).

Mini Discs might have some value for memorabilia, but they don't really
match any of the categories above, so I have found them not to have much monetary
value. With that said, some older minis do have some value. So you never
know! And people collect minis, cause they are fun and not very expensive,
for the most part.

On the CE Roc Collector's page, he is using people that he knows are Roc
Collectors as a basis for pricing, but Ebay is still a big factor. He even
tells collectors when a key disc is up for auction, or when one sold for
more money than expected. So Ebay is key for pricing. There is also a forum that can be very helpful!

You might throw them on Ebay at a price you are willing to take for them and
see if they sell. If they don't, then they are worth more to you than
someone else is willing to pay. That means you get to keep them!

I know that I've seen a World's Biggest mini set on ebay before. I couldn't tell you what they went for.
