Disc Golf Swap Meet

Post by Bangrrr »

Hey everybody, I got a wild idea and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together before one of the ice bowls. Everybody bring everything they want to part with, buy, sell, trade and see what happens.....Maybe get Rusco and Mace to show up with some new stuff......Any interest, thoughts???????????????

I don't really need anything, but I do have some stuff that I could part with, thats for sure, but I don't really see how it's too different than a "trading" thread, so nobody has to travel.

I completely understand what you are saying Chris. But my thinking was, that if everyone was travelling to a tournament anyway..... then why not load up the extra plastic and maybe come home with something you are going to use instead of let collect dust?

Ice Bowls are winter events, with an over all goal to raise some money for a local charity. We usually have 3 in Kansas Salina, Hays, and Pratt.

Wichita has raised over $1000 for at least the last 2 years. I don't know how many years we have had the event, but it's been many.

Ice Bowls in Kansas

Post by ksuwildcat »

Oh Smitty, there are more than three Ice Bowls in Kansas. There is also an event in Wichita and of course, the largest one in the state is at Rosedale Park in KC, KS. Last year we had more than 180 people play, and the chili that everyone brought was outstanding. This Ice Bowl is always the Sunday before the Super Bowl. Then of course, there's the one that Jim Conant has on his farm south of Topeka. It's usually on the Saturday before the Rosedale Ice Bowl.

Not sure if Kevin Montgomery and I will make it to either the Hays or Salina Ice Bowls this year, but if we're there you know that the weather will be cold or there will be a blizzard. Later, Ed

Baskets for Sale

Post by ksuwildcat »

I have a portable DisCatcher for sale. It's the one that was at hole #20 at the Herington tourney last year. It's a great basket and still in very good shape. I'm asking $250 for it (new for $300+).

I also have a mini basket for sale. I'm asking $50 for it. It was used at the mini disc golf tourney that we held at the last Am Worlds that we had here in KC.

E-mail me if you're interested (ksuwildcat@hotmail.com) and we can set a time to meet. I'll be in the Emporia/Herington area at the end of the month, and might be heading to the Hays or Salina Ice Bowls.

Later, Ed Gonzales
