Allright !Got my new toys about 45 min. ago and immediately had to check out the flights.the Challenger was slightly less stable than I had hoped (hoping for a pig!).That said...well I was driving with it!It holds a great line. The one I recieved was orangish ,max weight ?174 Putts like a cross between soft and hard plastics.By this I mean it is smooth enough to not "Grab"chains like a hard disc, but thrown correctly, the vibration damping effects work like a soft disc to kill it dead! Some pretty hard shots that probably would have come out with my usual putters stopped cold!More after further testing.
The "FLXXL" was a BIG suprise to me.It also was 174 gr.in bright yellow. The reason it suprised me was the stability. The XL mold is supposed to be straight to slightly flippy at say 300ft power.I found that the FLXXL was a lot more stable and required some turnover initially to fly straight. When thrown HARD the XL straightened out and acted closer to form by being really straight.
As predicted the thinner FLX molds seem to be floppier with the XL being the most floppy of the molds I`ve tested. The dome of the Challenger offers more rigidity than most.Smitty will like the XL only in cold temps
On the other hand I am trying to perfect the "Spike Anhyzer" which collapses on impact instead of rolling
more after more testing

I got both in the mail today also.
The putter actually might work! If you are a person who likes soft putters, this could be the one for you. I will get out and throw it a little tomorrow or later this evening when I am waiting for Conan to start.
As far as the XL goes. It is super soft! I also didn't get a chance to throw it either. The one use I can see is that it could be killer in a wooded course. Like Ron says it will collapse if you nail a tree. This could maybe keep from getting some bad kicks? I will give it a toss or two Friday also.

ok I think I got something besides an XL .It is more stable than I originally thought in fact I think it REALLY IS NOT AN XL! This disc has no dome ,is moderately fast, and a stability of appx.2.I would rate it as more stable than my ESP PRED!!!What you guys think?

Had a chance to test both a little today.
Here is my take.
XL-
Doesn't fly like any other XL. It is straight as an arrow at high speed. At low speeds it hyzers hard. It will not be in my bag at this time. Next winter, when it is below 30 it could make an appearance.
Challenger-
If you like soft putters, this could be the disc for you. It is pretty much a straight flier off the tee. I was really hoping that it would be overstable for approaches and drives. Soft putter throwers are going to like it. This think is every bit as soft as an Omega.

well
it looks like there is a good chance of a retool on FLX XL &possibly Challenger. The good news is that we retest if that happens
I suggested running a EXPRESS in the new plastic and calling it something else if it was overly stable! What about an Extreme that is MORE stable and crumpled on impact. How about a FLICK!
I guess we will have to wait and see what shape FLX lends itself to .
