What the hell is up with the Discraft discontinuations!!!!
Is it bad sales(money)? Freeing up plastic for ESP? New discs coming out this year?

11 discs? And some favorites?

Guess I'll have to stock up on Z Storms and X Crushes...

Some others baffle me too, mainly Z Talons, X Wasps and X Preds.

Full list-

X Tracker
Z/X Storm
X Predator
Z Breeze
Z/X Talon
X Challenger
Z Putt'r
X Wasp
X Crush

What's next? I'm not terribly disappointed, but I hope they have some great replacements in store for next year.

The X Challenger was a great overstable putter.

Does anyone have any of these?

If I remember correctly, Ronverse was using one of those during the KDGA finals....

I am not sure the reasons. I am sure it has something to do with sales, and overlap.

X Tracker is to flippy. XS, Xpress would be good replacements.
Storm is probably the least used Discraft mid.
X Pred ESP has the same grip and probably breaks in about the same.
Breeze very, very few people throw them. The Meteor is a better flippy mid.
Talon I see very few people throw them.
X Challenger is kind of weird. How do the FLX compare?

X Crush good rollers, but so is the SS

Yeah, but the point with the X Pred is, (even though I don't use them anymore) The Z takes way too long to break in. I've had the same Z in the bag for 2 years now,and it's still not past the initial break in point. Does not affect me, but I know tons it will...I don't how fast the ESP Pred breaks in. I use Avengers instead of beat Preds.

I love the Z Storm, I'm hoping the production Impact will be a lil' more stable, maybe that will replace it.(if the Impact goes full production.)

I keep the X Crush in the bag for steep downhill bombs(Blue Valley ) , huge sky annys, and rollers that need to stand up real fast/turn right hard. It will be missed. The SS just doesn't drop fast like the X Crush does.

The FLX Challenger is sweet, and it replaced my F.R. X's, but it's too soft for some. Maybe reg. ESP? Also the SuperColors D's are great replacements, they are super stiff and last forever.

I'll agree with the X Tracker, the stability was way too different.

The Talon was my main driver for awhile, it's been replaced, but still a great disc. I like the low profile.

I wonder if they are going to add a couple more 150's to the line up this year?

Too breezy for the breeze as I like to say.

On a side note, I think this years ace race disc (impact?) is far better than the meteor.

So Ron? What's the scoop?

I'm kinda baffled why they totally discontinued them, if it's a money/sales thing, why not just make them to order? Is that not possible? Say they hold on orders until they get a certain number, then run a small batch? Or maybe only run them once a year, like the Glos? :?:

I'm loving the Meteor! That thing will fly as far as my Surge sometimes.

The Meteor does not suck. I've just gotten to where I seem to like a Squall better for the same shots, cuz for me it goes further.....

Yea, but I'm sure your challengers go as far as your surge sometimes. : :!: :!: :!:

I don`t know what`s up.But,1 of the biguns was retailers asking for a reduction in the line. I guess trying to carry 1 of everything was just too much for some. Also ,as far as I can see the esp line is about as stable as "x "plastic in most cases.I will cry about my hard x challengers andI already miss the z storm.Of course when I heard the news I stocked up  The Impact is a modified storm mold (according to Discraft). If they release it in "z"plastic we`ll see.
Another big reason which is semi economics -the disc flight characteristics either weren`t popular enough ,or didn`t show enough seperation from other discs.Example x-plastic to esp plastic/ pretty much the same .The Storm got replaced by the Buzz .Hard x challengers are too durable and recently just didn`t fly the same(X-Plastic changed)The rest that don`t have an esp variant I hope I won`t miss.I don`t expect to

Got the scoop .X will be phased out/replaced by ESP.Not all X will go.A few favorites remain.Look for ESP versions to come out soon.

X XS and X-Press have always been a couple of my favorite discs.

Is the KDGA full color Challenger an X Challenger? Is it overstable?

As far as I know both of those will be retained.I`m not sure about those challengers, but I think all the supracolor stuff is a type of Z plastic and still being run.

Any word of a drone being produced in other plastic besides D.
