Grove Tourney Planning

Post by smitty »

We need to get on this. If we wait to long, the grass will be tall and we will be out of luck.

Things to decide:
Date
PDGA/KDGA or both
Course
--Short first
--Long after lunch
--Changed holes
--Extra holes
--Roped fairways
--OB roads
Discs custom stamp or not

I think a good date would be March 29th. I want to go to Fuzz Pony, but I don't think I am going to be able to get out of town that weekend. Plus, it's invite only, and a limited amount of participants. I don't think it would detract players from that event.

It might be hard to sell enough discs to make it worth getting any, unless we did do PDGA C-tier, we could get 50 CFR innova discs, minimum 25 per model, and I know who might like to buy the left overs, if there were any. For a stamp, I could send the basket roots logo to Crispin and I bet he could put the tourny date and name on the outer ring instead of the "Experience Winfield" or whatever it says.

I could probably mow the fairways down there as long as our trailer gets fixed before then.

If we are going to rope fairways, I wouldn't do it on all holes, but I bet bailing twine would work well.

March 21st is Rusco's Lodge tournament, I'd like to go to that.
March 22nd would be okay as long as I worked on course prep the week leading up to it.

March 28-29th is Rusco's Ozark Mountain Tournament, but I don't really want to go all the way to that again.

We could have a grove planning meeting at Smitty's house, as long as Stacy doesn't mind him puking in the bathroom again. Or we could do it at my house, I guess I would have to be the one puking though.

I don't mind the 29th of March.

I will need to clear it with Wife first.

This month isn't looking to good for me.

I am going to play Monkey Island and Pawhuska on back to back weekends.
