Me and Burton finished with 1 up. Dave gave us 2 strokes and when he found out our score had tied for 3rd and cashed he changed his mind and gave 1 stroke. What kind of crap is this, we are not setting a great example to all of the new up coming players that we have around winfield. I know we are out there to have a good time and not to get rich but come on get real, that score changing crap dont never affect certain people. If your going to dick me out of a couple of bucks then you are truly a selfish piece of crap DAVE.

Just stay home. That is an option that I have enjoyed the last few weeks.

Hey Cliff, I agree with all you say :D Rich has done some pretty tight things just to make one $. After eating once Burley and I left a tip and Rich went back and took tip money off the table. I could write a book on him. Be ready for some meat

He did give me a dollar coin when I went back and retrieved my phone, I did enjoy the look on his face when I through it about 100 feet into the thick grass.

Were you as mad as that day at Cherry Street when you wanted to kill me?

I say screw it. It will never change. You know what and how things are going to go down before you even leave home.

I heard Dave tell Burton that he only got 1 stroke because he won 2 weeks ago at league. Pretty damn ignorant. It was just because it was gonna take money away from Dave

who ever doesn't know rich is TIGHT doesn't know rich. i thought wed nite league was supposed to be for fun and some chump change. at least it has been for me. like smitty says you know what to expect when you leave home. that's just the way it is. cliff, we knew he would wangle us out of cashing with the "strokes" issue (unless we shot good enough to cash without strokes), so i wasn't surprised (or pissed off). anyhow, as always, i had a good time wed. nite and that's what i went out there for. but i AM a little concerned that some guys are not ok with rich and his rules and especially the rules he makes "on the fly". but again "that's rich". that's what we all love/hate so much about him  so anyway, i don't like being in this controversity so you can count on me to not accept any free strokes in the future. it was all in fun anyway. and my game has improved (at least sometimes) to the point that it seems it can be an issue. AND THAT'S GOOD FOR ME !!!! :D

One thing I wish everyone would keep in mind: Dave Richardson (with all his faults) is a grandaddy of Winfield disc golf. He's done more for our sport than most anyone. And if you want to play golf on Wed nite, RICH WILL BE THERE. He holds that league together (probably so he can pick up a little coffee change  ), but I think he deserves a lot of respect for being there every Wed. and for helping new guys feel comfortable coming out. The league has grown a lot and he's a large part of why in my estimation.

I will give you this Burton. Dave is there every Wednesday nite to run league. There have only been a handful of times since I have lived in Winfield that he didn't show or didn't let someone know he wasn't going to be there.

Our league is for fun. That is why we pay 50% of the field. So nobody can get rich off of it. A few years ago is when the entire stroke thing started.

I see a couple of options here that could get rid of some of the trouble. Do A/B pool like we did when I first moved here.
Looks like a no brainer as to who was going to win last Wednesday. The two guys who could throw the farthest. The other thing that could be done is to have no entry fee. That would make our numbers increase and do away with some problems. Most leagues take an entry fee and give some back to the club. So the club can improve the course, buy discs, and the many other things clubs do.

All good ideas, Smitty. It's still going to be Dave making the calls, and that's fine by me. But I won't take any strokes from now on (no matter how shitty I play). I'm just there for the good times. Everytime I've whined about not throwing well and felt bad, everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) has always said it's no big deal. It's just for fun. And THAT'S what keeps me coming out. Otherwise I'd have crawled off into oblivion with my tail tucked in and a big inferiority complex long ago. As it is I still have the inferiority complex, but I keep coming out :) All I'm saying is that, as a new guy (kind of), it's been very important to me that everyone is casual and loose and having fun. I'd be in favor of doing whatever to keep it that way. League is one nite a week we can get together and have a good time with no hassels. I think we're a pretty lucky group of guys to have that. I know I really appreciate it.

The main reason why I was pissed is because when I told him we shot bad he gave us 2 strokes, and when he found out the truth of what we shot and that is was going to cut into his share he renigged and gave us just enough to keep us out of the payout. Burton that is ok if you want to give Dave alot of credit, in a sense he deserves some of it. I will tell you that there are some of us that have been screwed over to many times. That guy is the main reason we dont have the A & B pool, cause he cant bare the fact that he would have to be paired with a B pooler, if he votes out the B pool then his chances of being paired with a better golfer is increased also his chances of winning is increased. Either way I dont much care anymore so I will just stay away for awile. I VOTE FOR BART (the fairest golfer you will ever know) to run league. Dave dont keep winfield golf going, it is the desire with in ones self to compete is what keeps golf going, with or without the gay farmer there will still be people playing and competeing against each other. He has ran more people away from playing with us than he has brought in.

I hear you Cliff. I suppose I haven't been around long enough to know all what's gone on over the years. I do understand Dave is tight with a dollar. I try to just accept that as "the way he is" and go on down the road. He's been a friend of mine for a while now (before I started coming out to league), so I guess there's some loyalty there. Anyhow, everyone's entitled to their own opinions. That's cool. I just like coming out and playing and having fun and I hate to see anyone getting pissed off. But I guess that's going to happen sometimes.

I here what your saying Burton, I my self am friends with Dave in and out of golf but even that dont excuse that fact that he was wrong and just expected us to just live with it, he eats and craps just like the rest of us. He might keep the league going, but that dont make him Ceaser and if it does he needs to here the mob and play by thier rules, because they are what truely makes league happen.
